Browns score 14 points early at Lambeau

Last year, the Browns opened the preseason against the Packers at Lambeau Field. Cleveland didn’t score a point in four quarters, losing 17-0.

This year, the Browns scored 14 in the first quarter alone at Lambeau.

It started with an 11-play, 80-yard drive, with quarterback Jake Delhomme completing six of seven passes for 66 yards. Running back Jerome Harrison finished the effort with a four-yard scoring run.

On the next drive, sparked by a fumble from running back Ryan Grant, Seneca Wallace led the Browns 13 yards in three plays, ending it with a 13-yard pass to receiver Brian Robiskie.

The Packers have since narrowed the gap to seven (Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings for 25 yards), but the good news for the Browns is that, under both Delhomme and Wallace, they’ve looked like an actual NFL team. And that’s something that didn’t happen last year until December.
