So much for the Aaron Schobel sweepstakes.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle spoke with Schobel this morning and the former Buffalo Bills defensive end says he’s officially retiring.
Schobel spoke with Texans coach Gary Kubiak last week, and there were local reports the two sides were just haggling over money. Schobel apparently decided his heart wasn’t in it.
"[Schobel] says he’s tired of dieting to weigh in the 240s when he’s playing and wants to eat and weigh 270,” McClain wrote.
Plenty of teams showed interest in Schobel, who has changed his mind a few times regarding his future in the last few weeks. Don’t be surprised if we hear from Schobel again before the season is over.
