I think Chris Carter being an “analyst” is hurting his relationship with Hall of Fame voters. When he makes an idiotic observation in the back of their minds they wonder if he is too stupid to be in the hall of fame.

It’s a bullshit question designed to get the kind of response he was looking for. Just so he could get this exact kind of attention for his interview that would have otherwise been ignored. In court its called ‘leading the witness’ In an interview.., it’s called ‘telling me what I want to hear’.
I guess Cris Carter wanted to break some new ground in saying that Leinart isn’t the QB that Kurt Warner was.

2 years ago, Carter said that T.O. can no longer get open. It makes me wonder what this guy is even watching. T.O. gets open he may drop it, or criticize his QB, but he gets open.

I agree with Cris Carter here, regardless of what anybody on here says, the bulk of us haven’t played at that level. fitzgerald is a top WR. I think he’s the best one in the league. if he’s getting lit up by safeties cause of where leinart sees fit to hit him across the middle, he’s gonna start taking off on plays where he’s crossing, making sure he’s either gonna be covered or just not even contend for the ball.
either way, he’s gonna do whatever he can to make sure that in this league of professionals, he’s gonna have what it takes when his contract is up to go and get a newer and even bigger one. catching balls from slouches like matt leinart over the middle that get you lit up and carted off the field with a season ending injury wont get you paid. if leinarts smart he’ll realize the only time he should try and hit this guy is when he’s going downfield and a safety wont be able to just hit him with all he’s got while he’s running forward at you as opposed to backtracking or sidestepping.
i think anybody who’s gonna doubt that fitz has any trust issues with this guy after taking a couple hits like that over the middle has to be taking a few hits of something else themselves.

This guy rips on T.O. all the time (and that includes moments with QB’s) and now he’s defending his buddy and old ball boy friend for saying something critical about Leinart!!!
When Cris Carter said to “pull a bullet on him and bam” on T.O., maybe it should’ve been the other way around.
Carter is a phony Christian who tries to pass himself off as this holier-than-thou figure. So what, Cris? You stopped doing coke! Okay?? But because you stopped putting illegal substances in your mouth, you’re not a jerk? You’re an actual gentleman?
Maybe Florio had a point when filling in for Dan Patrick recently. There are people who do not find this guy to be that nice and maybe phonies like him shouldn’t be the poster boys for career and life resurrections.

What a piece of crap Cris Carter is and always has been. Perhaps if he spent as much time wondering about the inner thoughts of his son as he does about Larry Fitzgerald’s state of mind, things might have turned out better for the younger Carter.
Onesweetworld has it right. Carter is one of the worst analysts in football. Given the poor quality of analysis overall, that is quite an accomplishment. Only six months left until the Hall of Fame cheapens itself further by adding this piece of crap to its Punk Receiver Wing. Hail!

It wasn’t that bad. In fact, the safety appeared to be going right for his waist. Nothing dirty about the hit, he hit him in the thigh.
As for the throw, the WR is running a route over the middle. Fitz makes his living off that kind of stuff. If you don’t want to run into the teeth of a defense take it up with the coaches. Leinart didn’t throw unreasonably high or behind him, though I guess you could question the wisdom of throwing to a very well covered area of the field in that situation.
Of course Chris Carter would complain, he’s a girly-man who doesn’t understand that real football players aren’t afraid to go over the middle.
