Preseason Week 1 video wrap

Now that the non-game games have returned, we’ve actually got some football action to discuss.

So let’s have at it, via Monday’s edition of PFT Daily.

We’ll focus on three things from the weekend that caught my bloodshot eye.  If you want to know what they are, you’re gonna have to click the play box.

It’s probably a fantastic, informative video, but I wouldn’t know since NBC’s crappy video player again refuses to load.
    Go back to youtube.

Loads fine for me, and you don’t want to miss all the cool ads you have to sit through before Florio actually speaks.
Fantastic and informative, not so much.

I got it to load in a separate window–no ads prior to Florio’s bit. But he didn’t say anything he hasn’t said in other articles, so it was a waste of time.

I think Dixon is good but I love how after 1 preseason game against the Lions 2nd and 3rd stringers, that people know more about Dixon than the coaching staff.
I also love that Florio stated they are keeping Dixon down so they don’t have a QB controversy when Big Ben returns. Are you areious?? Does he really think they won’t put the QB who gives them the beat chance to win out there? Most analysts have Big Ben in the top 5 QBs in the league. Is Florio saying Dixon is a top 5 QB after playing against the DET scrubs???
I like Dixon buts let’s step into reality. Tomlin will start the QB who gives them the best chance to win. When Big Ben returns, he’s the starter. If Dixon is really that good, it only makes sense to play him so 1) they win games during the suspension and 2) to show other teams what he can do and thus raise his trade value for next season.
