I think this article sums up what’s wrong with PFT pretty well: putting the ugliest spin on every story involving someone not on PFT’s own “good” list.
How could someone look at those facts and honestly believe the situation is as the slant here suggests?

Or…..it could be that he’s had three different QBs (Cutler, Orton, Henne) throwing the ball his way over the last three years (not sure what year the “McDonalds Bag Slipping Incident” happened. But he still caught over 100 balls in two of those seasons. Will just have to wait and see for this season. And wasn’t there also three different offensive systems?
But no, Fins fans are just “protecting Marshall the way the Bears fans protected Cutler”. Can’t say I’ve heard anything about the Cutler protection thing though.

Seems like everyone ignores the fact that he’s dropped A LOT of balls since he cut the tendon in his arm in the “McDonalds Bag Slipping Incident.”
That injury could have had an impact on his nerve endings and could be a real reason he drops so many passes now.
It seems to me the Dolphins fans are protecting Marshall the way the Bears fans protected Cutler. And we all know how that’s worked out for them.

Maybe you’re dense or maybe you haven’t been paying attention. But the Broncos suck now. The owner admits he can’t remember a lot of things. The coach, supposedly a QB genius, has gone through 5 QBs and none have worked out. He drafted a good one and cut him. He cut a guy that will be Peyton Manning’s back up this year. Good enough for the defending AFC champions, but not Josh. The coach the owner fired, on the other hand, seems to have turned a 4-12 team around. The Redskins gave up more sacks than the majority of the teams in the league over the last few years. In their first pre-season game, their QB was barely touched. And everyone though their O-line was their biggest weakness. So I appear to be a fool to you because you’re stupid.

Marshall is a stud, no doubt. Marshall will make plays that will have Dolphins fans calling him the real King of South Beach while looking past any off field mistakes. But their team is not good enough, they have pieces but it takes time.
They need RB’s that they can count on- ricky can not do a full seasons load and you don’t want him to do that at his age. Ronnie Brown is going to protect himself this season from injuries, he needs a contract from someone next year, so don’t expect him to be hitting those holes as hard (he could be back with Phins, if Tuna and Co. are gone). Keep an eye on how many times he runs out of bounds to avoid contact and potential injury.
They need a TE and better complimentary WR’s for Marshall and Henne. They have nice guys, but not the players you need to win championships.
You have to give it to Parcells, he is building the O and D line. They have two potential shut down corners as the years progress. LB’s are solid in one spot, weak on the outside.
The Miami Dolphins are a 5 to 8 win team this season. Again, they will be better down the road. Look for changes in the off season and Mike Nolan taking over as HC. TS is stuck in Tunas shadow. Nolan is smart enough to go get a progressive O-Cord that will allow Marshall and some young stud RB showcase their talents in Miami. This is a season that will make the Dolphins mentally tougher and give these guys another year of experience. They are being taught fundamental football on the pro level with a work ethic from one of the greatest minds to ever teach football, but his act will not take you to super bowl championships, anymore. It teaches you how to play the game with passion and heart, winning is not emphasized in this philosophy.
The Dolphins have a great young foundation, but a change in the off season will allow this team to take the next step in winning. Be happy with the direction the team is going and the possibility of calling Miami “title town” in two to three years with Heat, Phins and Marlins all vying for championships.
It just is not in the playbook for 2010.

I just read and article somewhere talking about Ginn hasn’t changed a bit (in SF’s pre-season game). Had a couple nice returns, ran out of bounds and dropped a couple passes.
But I do think he would look pretty funny with the fake handlebar mustache and beard people would paint on the billboard.

Him punting the ball in frustration is no big deal. But sulking on the sidelines and refusing to re-join practice is.
Sparano has built this team to win with heart and the overall “team” concept. We haven’t won games the past two years with overwhelming talent, it’s been because everyone has bought in to the TEAM concept (ex. Ronnie & Ricky, Chad & Chad, cutting Porter, etc). We brought in Marshall to improve our overall talent with the hopes that he too will buy into the team’s goals.
I’m still going to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point, and I support him. But the last thing the Dolphins need is someone to come in and disrupt all the good Sparano and his staff has done in uniting the team and changing the culture in Miami the past 2 years.

No one in the world should ever go cold. All you need is a dumb reporter and a bunch of ignorant people. That is the magic formula for creating sheep. All the wool you will ever need. Cutler was a baby because he got upset. The sheep never mention that Brady and Manning are seen angry and “throwing tantrums” on the sideline all the time. Manning was upset in the pre-season game this past weekend. Marshall punted the ball. You never see that. Actually you do. You see guys kick the ball in games when they get frustrated. Or slam the ball when they don’t make a play. Or hit the ground. Like some of the more intelligent people have mentioned it’s called emotion. If you don’t believe in what you’re doing and don’t expect a high level of performance from yourself, you may never experience this. And if you let reporters with nothing else to write do your thinking, you probably aren’t any good at anything anyway.

One the story NEVER says he refused to practice. The story stated he stood byhimself on the sideline for the rest of practice. So, was offensive practice over and he was donr anyways? Did he still practice, but when it was his time to sit out did he stand byhimself? I highly doubt “Soprano”
would let a player refuse to practice. Also, the story would be Marshall refused to practice not Marshall punted a ball.
Also, us Phin fans are not to worried about him the oppossing D should be. Keep an eye on him and let the best running attack in the NFL tear it up. Stack 7 or 8 in the box and I am sure Henne will get it to Marshall or Bess or Hartline or Ronnie and Ricky coming out of the back feild.

Who will cover Marshall? Nobody. He’ll just drop the passes thrown to him anyway. Then remove himself from the game and sit on the sidelines.
Dolphin fans are so insecure. You talk about the Jets more than you talk about your own team. Cromartie in SD played a different defense, more zone than man. He’s better playing man to man. It’s not going to matter cause Revis will be there week 3 and he’ll shut Marshall down like he did every other big time wr. “Fireman Special Ed,” I see what you did there, that was really clever. Revis has never punted balls (this makes 2 occasions for Marshall), never has been suspended, never beat up his girlfriend(s), or never had a run or 11 with the law. I’ll take the “crybaby” all day
