Vikings' official Brett Favre announcement expected Wednesday

Brett Favre is back with the Vikings, but the team is planning to wait until tomorrow to make it official.

The Vikings announced today that head coach Brad Childress will address the media on Wednesday following the team’s 11:40 a.m. practice. The team’s press release added, “Media availability with QB Brett Favre is to be determined.”

Sirius NFL Radio’s Pat Kirwan reported that the press conference will wait one more day in part because Favre’s first order of business is to take a physical.

Another potential is whether Favre still needs to work out the terms of a new contract. Favre is currently under contract for a base salary of $13 million in 2010, but reports surfaced this month that the Vikings were ready to bump up his salary to $16 million plus incentives. Favre may ask the Vikings to show him the money before making his arrival official.

Who cares ! Chuldress has made a fool of himself and the Vikings will not beat Green Bay !

I’m with Kirwin, he knows what he’s talking about and isn’t merely trying to stir the pot with made up stories.

This money has to miniscule compared to the revenue that Farve generates for the Vikings and NFL apparel. Love him or hate him, Farve is one of the top 5 superstars of the entertainment-oriented NFL.

Why is an announcement needed when he is under contract and already officially a member of the Vikings? What is there to make “official”? He should have been in MN with his “teammates” a month ago. Skeev

The physical showed that Favre actually died sometime during the spring, but shook it off so he could keep his consecutive game streak going.

I believe it was a year ago today that was stated word for word.
A series sweep, division title later, Chilly made the down syndrome coach and doubly mentally challenged GM in Pacland his bitches.
At least Erin Rodgers shattered the Packers post-season in a more dramatic way than Favre did. And earlier.

    Show him the money????
If Brett Favre takes one dime over 13 million, he is the dickhead of the year.
    Why?
Because a couple of weeks ago, we all read right here that he himself said this wasn’t “about the money”, it was “about the ankle being healthy enough”.
I can’t stand this jacka$$, and if he takes one cent over his contract I will wish the worst season in NFL history on his sorry a$$.

Jay Glazer is relieved to finally shed his disguise as a garden gnome next door to the Favre household. “I could pee whenever I needed to, no problem, but you didn’t want anyone seeing you take a crap. Had to wait for dark to do that”, muttered the columnist, as he scraped pidgeon droppings from his dome.

Not sure who “Erin Rodgers” is, but there is an Erin Henderson on the Minnesota Vikings. Hope that helps.
Unless you’re talking about Aaron “Air’N” Rodgers.

    @Richm2257- Agreed.
I still find it pathetically funny that the Vikings had to bribe and beg him to come play this season. If I were Tarvaris, I’d be looking for a trade..

I think Rodgers has more class in his pinky than Brett Favre has.

did they get chapstick when they went to go kiss his old ass
This is a sad that a team would allow there whole season ride on the back of an over hill brat
The message the Dicking are sending is win it all now and the hell with tomorrow

I told you he was just Farveing us.
Thanks for giving us the new word Brett…
Farveing : To lie, bullshit, or otherwise purposefully deceive.

Hey Florio, how’s that “Brett Favre sending nude pictures to Playboy Playmates” story you posted working out for you? Doing pretty good with that? Getting some good hits?
Funny. I haven’t heard a damn thing about it.

Hutchinson, Allen, and Longwell only went to Hattiesburg on the off chance that Elin Nordegren was still hanging around.

  22. raideralex99 says: Aug 18, 2010 1:05 AM

That’s insane … the Vikings have to make an announcement the Favre is playing because the media kept saying that Favre was going to retire.

  23. bellivi5150 says: Aug 18, 2010 1:50 AM

What a freaking narcissist he is. He’s been in the league 100 years I’m mean come on is a press conference really necessary. Boy and I thought that T.O. was the 2 year old looking for attention. He’s a freak
