AFC West training camp one-liners

The Broncos hope that Knowshon Moreno will return to practice next week.

Could second-year Broncos CB Alphonso Smith already be on the roster bubble?

Rookie WRs Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker made a brief return to the field, but the team isn’t sure when they will be all the way back.

Broncos QB Kyle Orton thinks the wideout group is more versatile as a whole.

It looks like the Chiefs will use LB Andy Studebaker as a nickel pass rusher this year, moving Mike Vrabel inside.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley says RB Jamaal Charles’ role is “to be determined.”

Haley believes in practicing in pads and having plenty of two-a-days.

Could the Lions be a suitor in a possible trade for Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson?

It’s been a while since the Raiders have seen RB Darren McFadden practice.

Jason Campbell and JaMarcus Russell have something in common: They love throwing to TE Zach Miller.

Raiders reserve DL Jay Richardson underwent knee surgery.

The duel for the starting cornerback job opposite Nmandi Asomugha rages on.

Chargers G.M. A.J. Smith is smitten with rookie running back Ryan Mathews.

Norv Turner continues to re-arrange the deck chairs at the tackle position.

San Diego is working to improve their play in short-yardage situations.

Didn’t Denver give up their extra 1st rounder to draft Alphonso Smith in the 2nd? Way to go McDaniels!

i love the fact they think it’s because of his great pass rushing..lol
Maybe it’s because the DOLTS are missing their LT….

Does McDaniels get a pass cause all of injuries or is he to blame for all injuries and bringing in un-reliable players?

    Bad link there

    @ encinitasraider …..
We could field a team with 9 players on crutches & the other 2 in wheelchairs & still beat you scrubs like a drum.
Bring it on. Any time. any place.

Mr Raider also insinuated that our rookie NOSE TACKLE is off to such a great start be cause our LEFT TACKLE is missing. Even my 6 yr old pop warner team knows how far the NT is from the LT. Maybe check the stats from the pre season opener and don’t use the “he was playing against 3rd stringers” line, he’s a rookie 5th rd draft pick.
    Just Whine Baby

I’m getting tired of being tired with DMC’s inability to stay in one piece. This guy came to the NFL and suddenly became made of glass.
The Raiders need to offer up a third rounder, etc. for Marshawn Lynch or Willis McGahee. Since Michael Bush doesn’t seem eager to assume the role of workhorse, the team needs to bring someone in willing to assume “beast mode.”

A.J. Smith is smitten w/ Ryan Matthews. I am too! I sent my favorite team 3 letters trying to convince them to trade up for him.

    Heh heh…
Step 1: Denver trades that cancer Cutler to Chicago for a QB who’s almost as good and a pair of first-round picks. Yes, Cutler is a much better athlete than Orton. But Orton is a better leader and teammate.
Step 2: Denver squanders that pair of first-round picks on a just-a-guy and a bubble player, and their new QB performs up to par.
Outcome: Wash for Denver. They got a couple guys who are (marginally) better than nothing, and took a (small) step back at QB. Chicago gave away two first-rounders that they too would have squandered in order to get a slight net upgrade at QB.
Neither team has realistic playoff hopes.

i think it is funny when I read the D-mac link about not practicing, then you click on the jay richardson link and there it states he has been practicing and hopes to play Saturday. Personally I say rest the hamstring another week or two…rather have him 100% for opening days.
Also gotta love the chargers fans…their MO is get a good coach who wins for your organzation (Bobby Ross, Marty, etc…) and fire them…..No offense but we have a chance with Norv at the helm…it all goes in cycles…we are heading north, and the chargers are heading south….c-ya wouldn’t want to be ya!

    @ joetoronto
The Chargers won the 1963 AFL Championship.
I know that you’re going to say something witty like ‘My Argonauts have won five Grey Cups in that time – sucka!’ and you’d be right.
As of today, only 18 of the 32 NFL teams have won a Super Bowl.
    In time…

This is getting stale, (some of) you Raiders fans. ..
Have you no actual insights on football?
You boasting about old SB wins is like Tony Adonidas, my barber, boasting about the Golden Age of Greece instead of addressing the shambles that is modern Greece. As if Tony can take credit for Aristotle.
I do think Oakland will go as high as 9- 7 this year. But please. Stop embarassing the legacy. It’s not yours. You are not the team. You are an obscure barber . With a skin problem.
