Dolphins sign Randy Thomas

The Miami Dolphins have picked up a veteran offensive lineman.

Guard Randy Thomas has signed with the team and was at practice today, giving the Dolphins some added depth with Nate Garner and John Jerry both battling injuries.

In 1999, Dolphins boss Bill Parcells, who was then the coach of the Jets, picked Thomas in the second round of the NFL draft. Thomas has started 143 games in 11 seasons since then, including two games last year with the Redskins. Thomas’s 2009 season was cut short when he suffered a torn triceps in September.

The Dolphins waived receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen to make space on the roster for Thomas.
