Rough week: Cardinals safety Aaron Rouse cut after car accident

Cardinals safeties Aaron Rouse and Reshad Johnson were involved in a car accident on the way back to training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday. Johnson was fine, but Rouse suffered whiplash, and missed practice in a neck brace the next day.

By Wednesday, Rouse was also suffering from a bruised ego. The Cardinals kicked the former Packers safety to the curb, releasing Rouse so they could sign wideout Mike Jones.

The team’s website rightly points out Rouse may have been cut so soon even without the injury -- he was only signed on August 3rd -- but the quick dismissal is another reminder how cruel life can be at the bottom of an NFL roster.
