One of the most eventful preseasons in Vikings history went from bizarre to scary on Thursday, when receiver Percy Harvin vomited, collapsed, and eventually was taken to a hospital via ambulance.
Per Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Harvin was not participating in practice at the time. He had jogged onto the field to watch practice when he became ill.
Harvin missed several days of camp due to migraine headaches, which have affected him since he was 10 years old. Symptoms include vomiting and dizziness.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: The situation is being attributed to a severe migraine headache.
Wow – hope he’s OK.
Hope he is ok.
very scary stuff. hopefully he is just a little dehydrated and nothing more
This only goes to prove that the Vikings players are so sick of Favre, that being on the same field may induce vomiting.
This is terrible…
I hope all you Packer fans that made fun of him and assumed he was smoking pot and the headaches were just an excuse to get out of drug testing feel like the Dbags that you are, now.
I hope and pray he’s alright
I suffer from migraines too! My heart goes out to you Percy!!
I pray all is well for Percy and his family!!!
Drama queen! Errr…….wait, that’s your QB. GO LIONS!
His health issues have to be a HUGE concern for the Vikings, were these issues as severe in college?
Scary. They should give him all the time he needs to try to get back right. This sucks because he’s such a great talent but if the migraines keep getting worse you have to wonder if his life would be better without football.
Not sure what brings them on but I doubt playing in the NFL helps matters.
The league should allow him to use medical marijuana…
I’ll be damned, he really does have migraines. I hope for Harvin’s sake the paramedics didn’t use their sirens.
Sad…hope you’re ok, Percy. Thoughts with ya
Hope he gets better.
Cue the regular PFT rift raft make a disgusting joke about this young mans life…
Good to know I’m not the only one who vomited when I heard of Favre’s return.
Frigging migranes. Not like there isn’t enough media crap going on this week. What’s next, a DEA raid on Klink’s Rogaine supply?
Let’s all hope he is ok.
I’ll be praying for him
Hope he is okay.
This goes without saying, but I hope that he is going to be alright, and I will be praying for his health. NOT because of football!
Terrible news, hopefully he is o.k. I think everyone can agree that we all wish Percy can stay healthy.
This is why he smoked weed (weed has been known to prevent migraines and sooth the symptoms once they begin). Too bad the NFL would flip if he had a prescription, tho.
I bet Childress feels like a dick for sending him that 5 day letter now, huh?
Seriously could anyone handle this circus worse than him? I actually like the Vikings (Steelers fan) but this guy is getting way to much credit for wins by a stacked team who could win them with Jim Zorn as the coach (too soon?).
Wow… I feel for this guy. I’m afraid that this migraine thing might get the better of him. I mean he must be seeing the best doctors, right? He’s been to the mayo clinic and still has serious issues.
Good luck Percy.
Cue the usual Green Bay and Chicago idiots with their usual string of Percy Harvin/marijuana jokes.
The rest of us will be saying a prayer for the guy and hoping that he’s okay.
I hate the Vikings with the fury of 1,000 suns, but I don’t wish ill on anyone. Here’s hoping he comes out OK.
You see what brett does to a team?!?!?! I’m sure he’s fine. Id need a couple extra bong hits if I had to work with brett too.
Yikes. I hate the Vikings but this isn’t cool.
Hopefully just dehydration and nothing serious.
Very Scary. Hope he’s fine.
Wow that sucks. Well at least he was there with the team even with a health issue.
Hopefully he’ll be ok.
Excuse #___ to use in Feb. why the Vikings SHOULD have won Superbowl 45 but fell short, AGAIN!
A QB who doesn’t want to play, just mug for the media… a disgruntled RB with vaseline hands… WR’s who might be able to play…
Good luck, Queenies…you’re going to need it to even sniff the playoffs.
Maybe all the dumbass sportswriter will quit saying percy was intentionally skipping training camp and using migraines as an excuse. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Let’s here it from all the posters from 4 days ago calling Harvin another Farve. The guy has a serious medical issue…
And the vikings are looking pretty lousy right about now with sending him the five day letter. Harvin needs to stay off the field until his symptoms go away, being in the sun isnt going to help anyone.
Damn. It sounds like dehydration to me. I had a case of dehydration while playing college football and its NOT fun.
Wow, some of you people are really heartless, I hope you get what you deserve in life.
You can joke and make fun of Favre being a drama queen, being selfish, Chilly for being worthless, the owner for whatever but when somebody has serious health issues and needs to be taken to the emergency room in an ambulance all jokes need to stop. Some of you are so classless.
WTF is this?

chronic head aches and all
BOYCOTTFOOTBALL.c om”
Florio, why do you let this ass clown pimp his lame site here? I’ve seen the site, and I’m pretty sure it’s managed by an eight year old from another country, someone with little grasp of sports, journalism or grammar.
People who continue to make jokes at Harvin’s expense have no class… As someone who suffers from frequent migraines, I’m impressed with Harvin’s toughness (unlike Albert Haynesworthless who sits out of practice with a tummy ache)
As a Packers fan, I wish him a speedy return to health.

I’m glad Viking and Packer fans can generally come together on scary situations like this.
—————
I beg to differ, so far the majority of the Packer/Anti-Viking crowd here has been nothing but disrespectful in this thread.
Hopefully he comes to his senses and retires from football for the sake of his health. Vikings don’t need him anyway now that Lord Favre is back. According to Vikings fans just the mere presence of his Lordship will bring a Super Bowl trophy.
He probably ate the eggs this morning.
I’m a lions fan (yes by choice i live here) and i feel bad for this poor guy his the show he put on last year of his talent was great, and now it seems like a struggle for him to stay healthy. my prays go out for percy i hope he gets better!!!
You know through all the bullshit and trashtalking we do on here this seriously saddens me. This kid is full of promise. The unfortunate fact that may come to light is he won’t be able to play football. I don’t get migranes. I can’t even imagine them. I hope they find a way to help this kid. It has to be living hell to live with those let alone try and play NFL Football.
@jsbeck: Grow up. Harvin suffers from migraines, jackass. If I were Florio I’d ban your stupid ass.
I despise the Vikings, and so by extension I despise Percy Harvin, but I feel sorry for that man. I know from experience how much migraines suck.
Feel better kid, so I can get back to rooting against you.
Please let Percy get high again so he can practice and play every sunday…..it worked at Florida!!
DailyNoreseman -
Go back through now and read the comments and pick out the “idiot Packer and Bears” comments.
I believe you’re the idiot.
God Bless Percy,
You are Man Brother…..
Anyone who could joke about this is tornado bait…
I hope God makes an example out of you,.
Just as he did to New Orleans. WIth all the sin down there, he will teach you a lesson.
Soddam & Gommara…
Being that Viking fans are dicks on every packer story, I won’t be any different. You all like to talk shit, so you can receive it too.
Too much THC in his system and a lack of energy is the root cause of him fainting.
Don’t do drugs, kids.
Interesting how these migraines only seem to cut into practice time. Come the regular season he’s magically cured… until next training camp.

I hope you collapse, you worthless piece of human filth.
Percy needs to get this figured out before the Vikings allow him to get back on the field. The last thing the league needs is a kid getting killed during play or on live television. His health is more important than Favres last season to win a SB.
With missing the rookie symposium last year and then not making it to the team until last week this year…I was started to wonder if he was just trying to get out of practice like Brett.
I guess this just goes to prove how much it can effect him on a daily basis.
I have much respect for his ability to transition into almost a full WR at the professional level while having more success than most full-time college WRs. It really was an impressive feat.
As someone that suffers a different type of illness, but one that can crop up at anytime, I feel for the guy and hope he’s able to continue playing at a high level. I personally have crohn’s disease, like David Garrard, and am always amazed that people with these types of conditions are able to overcome the issues and play a professional sport at its highest level. A true testament of their desire.
Oh yeah, also just thought I’d point out that I’m a Packers fan.
“I suffer from migraines too! My heart goes out to you Percy!! ”
He doesnt care about you kid, sorry. You’re a good kid just a little off.
Jesus, that’s not good. Hope he’s okay.
And to all the Viking fans on here so quick to jump at Packer fans’ ripping and “classless” remarks, I suggest you take a look at the 4,000 posts that Contra, Pervy, and GravyMakesSconniesFat put on here every week. Talk about classless, stupid assholes.
i wish him a speedy recovery.
poor guy, that sounds horrible. and everyone making fun of him probly also makes fun of crippled kids they see on the street.
Prayers sent. Be well, Percy.
Not a Viking fan, however too bad for Percy, the guy has loads of talent. I’m just thinking maybe he should walk away from the NFL…….more important things like your health. Some of these posts about a person’s health are really classless, would you do the same if it were a loved one in your family? Dumb assess!!!
As someone that suffers from migraines and even cluster headaches, my empathy is with the young man. Fortunately for him he has an employer that understands. Too often in the real world, employers don’t understand the excruciating pain that these cause, and the attitude is “it’s just a headache, take some aspirin and get back to work”. Although research has been great and has gotten better, people that don’t suffer just quite don’t understand how absolutely debilitating a condition like this can be. I wish him well.
It’s probably all a lie.
It would probably be in his best interest to stop playing a sport/position that involves constant head hits. I dont like the Vikings/their fans/Favre/Harvin but unless he wants to end up dead on the field he may want to consider going the Coffey route and retire.
he shouldn’t be playing football in that kind of physical condition.
Those Migraines aren’t going to get any better having your head bashed in weekly. I’d say this probably isn’t the line of work he should be devoting his life to. Something less physical may be in order. I get migraines often and can’t imagine having to take shots to the head and what might happen after.
He saw Terrence Cody with his shirt off
I hope he doesn’t a brain tumor or something.
He is an awesome player. If you’re a fan of the NFL you have to like him. (and Madden.. ;] )
Seriously, everyone making fun of him just get the frick off the thread.
I hope he gets better soon .. I’d love to see the Vikings at full force again this season. It was really fun to watch! … this coming from a Cowboys fan.
Poor kid. Get well soon.

Pack fan here – wow, that really sucks for him. If he really DID have success with weed in the past, he’s gotta try to get that worked out.
Has he been to Mayo at all? I mean, they’re right there.
Me trading him off my FF team last year for Ryan Grant and Robert Meachem is looking more and more genius. That being said, get better Percy.
Half of these comments will eventually be deleted, as Big Brother has become increasingly more relevant in the comments section here. But that being said, although i like to bust other teams fans balls here, that’s just it, bust fans balls, and i have busted Vikings fans balls, i see no reason to wish ill health or injury to any player. It’s only a game, and this is a young guy, and whatever the hell he has isn’t getting any better. Hopefully they figure out some sort of balance for his migraines, and he can play football..
With someone that suffers from mirgraines a lot of the time, and if this is collapse is related to migraines and not dehyrdration. Should he consider retirement? I know thats the least of anyones concerns, but at this time but I don’t recall any football players suffering from them as frequent as Harvin, and this game is known for injuries and now more concern about concussions (which may have contributed to this issue).
Everyone realizes Percy Harvin doesnt read the comment section of Profootballtalk.com correct?
Tony Dungy will be praying for him…
Hopefully he is ok but at the same time he might consider walking away from the game before he takes a shot to his head that he doesn’t wake up from. Money isn’t worth your life.
I am a Packer fan who has nothing but disgust for BrINT, but I sincerely hope Harvin can get past the migraines.
I had them almost weekly for 20 years. I can relate. Then they just disappeared. Would that Harvin can be that lucky.
Boy I feel sorry for this kid. He has a bright career, but he obviously has some serious neurological issues.
I really don’t care if he plays if his health is a big issue. Maybe just one of those sad things.
I hate the Vikings and their whiny fans, but I hope Harvin is okay.
With that being said, many Vikings “fans” often post under Saints-related articles making fun of people who died in Katrina. I see many of those usernames under this article whining about Harvin jokes. Just sayin’.

There comes a point in time when Harvin and the Vikings must fully come to the conclusion that Professional Football and the head trauma that accompanies it – is probably not in the best interest of Percy Harvin.
It would be an incredibly kind gesture if people like Troy Aikman and Steve Young were to visit and, perhaps offer a players perspective – that having your health for the rest of your life means more than the game of football.
huge fan of Harvin and I think he is one of the most physically gifted young players…
that being said I have serious doubts that he will ever complete a full season and/or be able to play pro football for a long time…
migraines are not fun and i can imagine with the hits he’ll take its only getting worst…
wish you well

Man dont be a douche!
Not a Viks fan but I hope he is ok
Sounds like Chilly forcing him back to practice was yet another brilliant move.
I hope he’s alright, but this team is being led by an imbecile.
Sucks about Percy’s condition, we need that kid on the field, so much talent you want to see him get to continue his career. Good Luck to PH
I think the dude is pretty freakin brave to even put a helmet on when his head feels like its going to explode. He has my respect and I hope he’s able to resume his career.
More importantly is that his value in Fantasy leagues just fell to 5th round.
Do you feel bad now for saying he was possibly milking his injury and may have felt emboldened by Favre’s absence?
Most of the Packer/Viking/Bear ‘banter’ around here is pretty childlike and consists of throwing out some ‘Pucker’ ‘Viqueen’ or similar overused nickname, throwing out some swear word or gay reference and then concluding with a ‘your team sucks’ reference.. gets really old. I’m a Packer fan and some of you ‘Packer’ fans really need to grow the hell up and stop giving the rest of us a bad name by sounding like idiots.
I wouldn’t wish migraines/headaches on my worst enemy so, hope he gets well soon.
Poor kid.
why doesn’t’ he just quit and not risk further damage? Obviously he would want to keep playing but if this keeps up it’ll only get worse.
@blue rush- god bless you bro, because if you make a joke of Korey Stringers death obviously there is a darkness in your heart and I feel bad for you. Ill say a prayer for you too.
Hope they can get this one particular headache to stop soon. Those attacks are so exhausting. Concerned for him personally and professionally. 1500ESPN has been providing great detail.
People who are making jokes are – beyond words – inappropriate. Bet some of them are secret papercut screamers.
I feel his pain, as a migraine sufferer myself, I can say I wouldn’t wish one on my worst enemy, well maybe an Ain’ts fan.
Jokes aside, the pain is indescribable, you lose your vision, hallucinate, vomit. It’s awful. Fortunately as i got into my 30s, the frequency decreased from monthly to 1 or 2 a year. I haven’t had one in over a year (knock on wood). When they do occur it usually involves a ER visit with a Demerol shot. I haven’t had much luck with most medications, so usually they just have to knock me out with a seditive.
Migraines are no joke. I feel for the kid.

You sir are a Ri-Tard. Headaches wouldn’t make it legal to participate in smokin…
I’d hate to have this guys problem with headaches and thnk he should consider his long term life and retire.
Makin fun of another team or teams fans is part of the fun of sports….making fun of a player when something serious like this occurs is NOT funny and shows what kind of scum there is out there…..get well percy
Never had a migraine until I was about 30 years old. They are horrible!!!! I had one so bad that It lost sight in one eye, vomited profusely, could not stand without falling over and was in bed for about 14 hours. I feel for you P.H. I really do! Get better!!
Be a fan of any team you want in the world, but we shouldn’t cheer when a person is sick like this. Injured? Well, that is a different story, but vomiting & collapsing is more serious than a pinky sprain by Ray Lewis.
Get well soon Percy, your fun to watch & I wanna see as much good football & football players as possible this season!
Wonder if a combination or Migrains along with possible concusions could be to blame…. none the less I hope he gets better!
Wow, that’s terrible. I hope they can do something for him. It would be a shame to see such a great young player have to hang up the cleats prematurly because of migranes. Get well soon Percy.
