Reserve PUP list looks like growing possibility for Atari Bigby

Now two weeks removed from ankle surgery, Packers safety Atari Bigby isn’t sure when he will get back on the field.

Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Bigby was originally given a recovery timetable of 4-8 weeks. He underwent surgery on his ankle on August 6, which would seem to make the reserve/PUP list a growing possibility. That would knock Bigby out for the first six weeks of the season.

Bigby called that possibility “very disappointing.”

Plenty of Packers fans probably think they won’t miss much with Bigby, but his absence would make the team very thin at safety should rookie Morgan Burnett also get hurt. With Charles Woodson likely to come back to Earth this season, the team’s secondary remains a potential weakness.
