Russell Okung departs for Seahawks

There was a lot to like for the Seattle Seahawks in the first half against the Packers Saturday night.

Leon Washington’s quickness looked all the way back on his touchdown run and a handful of other promising plays. The Mike Williams story continues to get better after he caught four passes for 44 yards. He seems to be solidifying the team’s No. 3 receiver role.  Cornerback Marcus Trufant looks like the old Marcus Trufant.

But all of those positives will be washed away if the ankle injury to rookie left tackle Russell Okung proves to be serious.

Okung headed to the locker room early in the first quarter, and wasn’t seen again.  We’ll update his condition when we know more.

There was plenty of better players the Seahawks could have taken instead of this overpaid Okung. Brian Bulaga is looking great. In fact watching this preseason game it looks like the packers will have the best line in football.

Just what the Seahawks need our left tackle gripping with a ankle. The big guy must be ready for the start of the regular season. Has anyone seen W.Jones recently?

    Happy to see Leon back.

Entirely too much Seattle Seahawk News out. With all the news out with V-Jax, Leon Wash, anw now Okung, youd actually think the Seahawks were going somewhere….
This is a 5 win team tops. The only news of importance with them is who they gonna take with one of the top 5 picks next season.

Is Mike Williams really- finally- growing up, slimming down and committing to being a pro football player? We’ll see!

“Russell Okung departs for Seahawks “, but where in this article does it reference Okung GOING TO Seattle? You make it seem that he was away from the team and is now heading back to it. Then, at the end of the piece, you mention that he left the game early with an ankle injury but didn’t come back.
Did you mean he departed FROM Seattle? Even so, that would imply that you KNOW he left the team for good. Depart is the wrong word to use. Why not just cut the damn drama and hype and title the piece “Okung, Ankle Injury: EXITS Game and Doesn’t Return.”

I honestly can’t believe another human being is actually this stupid. There is no drama, anyone who follows football knows what it means. Try TMZ, D bag.

I totally agree; however, I’ll give GR the benefit of the doubt and attribute this to fatigue since it was almost midnight. I thought the same thing as you but I’ve learned that if you “keep your expectations low you won’t be disappointed…”

@Wet Paper Bag — Misleading “headlines” is what PFT seems to be best at. Rosenthal when he first started writing for PFT was decent at best….but in the past year or so has picked up too many traits from Lord Florio and this place actually borderlines on being the National Enquirer of football.

@BigOx — The post shows almost midnight, but that only means that is when it was posted east coast time. For all any of us know, GR was in Hawaii and it was only like 4pm there…….LOL

To the fudge packer up top…
Why would Seattle take a guy with oompa loompa arms 6th overall? Isn’t Baby Baulaga playing guard for your little white trash team anyway?
Okung was the top tackle in the draft and will be still many years down the line. You fudge packers should win a playoff game before opening your man pleasers and spouting ignorance.

You should try winning more than 9 games the last two years before you open yours.

Well, I seem to remember beating you last time we played you. In the playoffs.
And the time before that. In the playoffs. “We want the ball and we’re gonna score.”
