The Cleveland Browns’ regular-season home opener will include the unveiling of the team’s Ring of Honor, recognizing the greatest contributors in the franchise’s history.
But the greatest Browns player of them all won’t be there.
In what Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer describes as a “profound snub” caused by “frosty relations between the franchise and its greatest player,” Brown is planning to skip the event.
Brown hasn’t told Browns officials directly that he won’t be there, but his wife confirmed that he will not attend.
“He won’t be able to make it,” Monique Brown said. “He tried to move a few things around [his schedule], but wasn’t able to.”
Brown has refrained from publicly criticizing the team this offseason, but he was miffed that Mike Holmgren removed him from his senior management position with the team. And Grossi reports that Brown is also upset that the team curtailed its financial involvement in Brown’s Amer-I-Can Program.
One source told Grossi, “I’m afraid we’ve seen the last of Jim Brown around here.”
That would be a shame.
One source told Grossi, “I’m afraid we’ve seen the last of Jim Brown around here.”

The best move the Browns have made in decades is shuffling the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton wannba out the door.
The walrus don’t play that game.
It’s a shame Jim Brown apparently needed money and title from the team to stay loyal, actually…
See? Even Jim Brown knows Cleveland sucks.
Who would go there if they didn’t have to?
..probably out shopping for new golf clubs and a sporty new African hat..
One source told Grossi, “I’m afraid we’ve seen the last of Jim Brown around here.”

I think I heard the same thing when JB left the Browns to pursue his “acting” career. And now, he knows exactly how it feels to be snubbed.
Karma, Mr. Brown, is a cold-hearted bitch.
Can someone explain to me why Jim Brown is such a nasty guy???
he couldnt squeeze it in between the obligatory “guilting of the man” and “woman-beating sessions” he had already scheduled.
I can’t tell if Jim Brown is a man or a bitch. It seems as if he takes EVERYTHING personally.
Jim Brown is a pussy baby. Sick of this guy. My Dad always said “this guy was the best ever and no one will ever be like him”. The best ever may still be an argument but no one will ever be like him is a joke. Too many NFL players think the world will stop for them. Guess what Jim Brown, my Dad has moved on just like you should.
No big loss. Brown is an egotistical racist piece of shit. He sure did a fine job of “mentoring” Maurice Clarett a few years ago, didn’t he?
As a Browns fan, I love what Jim Brown did for the team 50 or 60 years ago, but the man’s past off the field problems make me question why he was mentoring players in the first place. Doesn’t he have a movie or something to film?
Karma, Mr. Brown, is a cold-hearted bitch.
The way to get out of Brown’s shadow is to put a quality field on the team.
If you’ve got nothing to look forward to… there’s only the past.
Shame they can’t maintain a relationship with the guy’s charity.
Jim Brown makes me sick.
The name “douchebag” keeps coming to mind when thinking about a post-retirement Jim Brown……… I wonder why?
Hey Brown fan ( I do mean fan), your “greatest player” snubs you? You are still the mistake by the lake and do not deserve a football team! I can’t wait till the Steelers smoke you weak assess twice this year!
Jim Brown is in NYC trying to build a Mosque!
What a contrast, the Browns treat the greatest NFL running back like dirt and a team like the Packers put a “chester the molester” Chmura in their Hall of Fame (Shame)…..go figure!!
Only Cleveland could pull off a “Ring of Honor” ceremony w/o their only significant player in team history.
Man, that place and Detroit suck!
“the greatest ever”. ya playing with a buncha white dudes who were plumbers & mail men in the offseason…I’m sure he was great but no comparison to today’s game.
Yeah, Brown is right to be miffed at Holmgren. After all, his involvement with the team was working SO well!
When I was growing up Jim Brown was it. This player was a man’s man, went out of his way to run over linebackers & def backs & his on field war with Sam Huff was legendary. He palyed hurt and wanted the ball on every down.
Since his retirement he has continued his ways, trying to run rough shod over people. His arrogance, rudeness and self rightousness has turned a profound hall of famer into a disgruntled, bitter old man who is now disliked by older fans and not even revered by young fans who like to study about older stars.
Jim Brown needs to just shut up and go away!!!!
No surprise here….why would ANYBODY come back to Cleveland once they escaped?
If only Tony Grossi would disappear. He symbolizes everything wrong with Cleveland. Too bad Modell only got him suspended for two weeks and not fired PERMANENTLY.
All I got to say is this, people that live in glass houses should throw stones?
Hell, Lebron left Cleveland, Jim Brown is snubbing the organization – get over it.
The dude is seriously a senior citizen and some of you are up here calling him racists and a female dog all in the same line?
He is old and has paid his dues in this world and whatever he has done in this life, is simply between him and his maker – let his maker be the judge of him?
I can see someone saying its rude, its disrespectful for him to dis the Browns in this fashion when they are trying to pay homage to his career – but a few of you are getting quite personal about the matter?
Its amazing the things some of you say up here!?
The fans ran Jim Brown out of town. Just like they did with Lebron James.
I look at the comments on this board. No wonder no one, in any sport, wants to play in Cleveland.
I now back Lebron James.
The always bitter Jim Brown. So what – he experienced all he experienced. He isn’t the first and probably won’t be the last. Sadly he has chosen to remain amazingly angry and bitter about it opposed to facing it, dealing with it, and moving on. He could have used this opportunity to make a positive impact on the world and become a stronger person instead of a bitter old man angry at the entire nation. What a shame Jim – now you’re no longer one of the greatest running backs of all time – you’re just an cranky old man sitting on the porch yelling at everybody to get off your lawn
Jim Brown: The original “Uncle Tom”.
I heard he sold his home in Cleveland and is having a special on ESPN to announce he’s accepted a similar role with the Miami Heat…
How can you guys DIS the best RB ever???
The Browns lobbed the first salvo in this dispute. I’m 53 but, I remember JB distroying defenses. He was the brightest spot of the Cleveland Browns. Easy come, easy go. Sad!
He’ s one of the few that never forgot his roots and community. He called out others who forgot ..ie OJ… etal. Surely, he gets the benefit of the doubt?
I saw Jim Brown in Canton while visiting the HOF. Coincidentally, he, and a couple of other former players, were signing autographs (for a fee of course). I went to take his picture – evertime I aimed the camera he would deliberately turn his head away from the camera. I wasn’t in his face, I wasn’t even close to him, I didn’t ask him anything, I didn’t ask him to smile, heck, I didn’t say a single word to him. For that matter, I didn’t even care if looked my way. I wasn’t getting his autograph, I was just a fan at the HOF who happened to be there during this autograph session. I just wanted a candid picture of him interacting with his fans. It took more effort for him to deliberately turn away and ruin my picture then it would have been to simply continue on as he was and letting me take the picture. It wasn’t a coincidence either. Once I realized what he was doing I snapped a couple of more quick shots just to be sure. That’s when he looked he was going to get whiplash – and that’s when I lost any remaining respect I had for Jim Brown.
He’s probably going to miss the ceremony because he has some woman beatin to do.
The best move the Browns have made in decades is shuffling the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton wannba out the door.

Jim Brown is in NYC trying to build a Mosque!
————————————————————
You are some sissies with keyboard courage. I guarantee you, that you wouldn’t stay that ignorant stuff to Jim Brown’s face.
You jackasses didn’t live back in the 50s and 60s when black men were emasculated and forced to play subservient roles to white folks. Jim Brown spit in the face of those racist assholes. He, Bill Russell, and Ali forced America to look black men in the eye. They weren’t going to accept being called “boy” or the n-word.
The awesome thing is that their protests were non-violent and Jim Brown just walked away from the Browns to pursue a career in film.
Do you jerks realize that Jim Brown wasn’t even the #1 pick in his draft? In fact 5 guys were picked ahead of him. Gee, I wonder why that happened?
And to that idiot who suggested Brown would build a mosque, what does that have to do with anything? Because Jim Brown doesn’t want to be involved with the Browns, he’s a muslim? You are stupid.
And Jim Brown is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy more impactful than Sharpton and Jackson. Brown is out there trying to help dudes who have made mistakes in their lives. He’s not on the sidelines spewing empty rhetoric.
Finally, Jim Brown has every right to be angry. You can’t tell him how he should feel because you weren’t the one being called the n-word. You weren’t the one to face blatant discrimination. So just shut your face.

Jim Brown: The original “Uncle Tom”.
————————————————
JAJ: the unoriginal PFT poster who makes unfounded, moronic statements without foundation or reason.
Jim Brown played from 1957 – 1965.
He played at a time when racism was “okay”…..you all cannot even begin to imagine what life was like back then for blacks. He should have won the Heisman but at that time NO BLACK had ever won the Heisman. It is no wonder he is the way he is as he was spit on during games and called things that I will not repeat here. He’s got records that today still stand in Cleveland. I won’t waste time listing them. He was and still is “the man”….not a perfect man like you posters but a man.
If he wants to skip this ceremony I say that is his right and everyone else just should just mind their own business about it and let the man be!
Looks like Jim brown and brett favre are going to have a lot in common.
@ Steelers Rule
I wouldn’t throw stones woman. Your franchise went through rough times itself, & now your QB can’t keep his pecker in his pants, your RB can’t gain a yard per carry, your coach can’t hold down the fort, & your OL profoundly stinks.
Good luck with them ass kickins’. Maybe you should concentrate more on the relationship with your sister & the incestual kids you have rather than worrying about pro football.
Classless!
Tell me people around the Brown’s ownership aren’t sighing right now. Holmgren did in a month what they didn’t have the nuts to do for years.
@ queenie:
Well said. Thank you for making sense.
PhillyHouse: You need a tissue?

@ PhillyHouse and Queenie
Excellent post – its a damn shame a lot more people don’t have empathy and understanding of others the way you do!
It’s all about shouting the first thing that comes out of their mouths without even putting any real thought behind their argument?
I disagree with Jim Brown not going to the ring of honor ceremony.
Not because he’s “racist” and a “b*tch” – but because they are honoring him and to snub them – simply because they slowed down their support of his Amer-I-Can program and the seperation of duties – at least they have supported his endeavors in the past and he could have been a bigger man about the matter and put a good foot forward on faith.
I just think the Browns want to get the place in order and once everything was in order, they can focus on, in the future, one of the best Browns and players to ever play the game.
Do it for your fans and do it for your legacy, don’t be a baby about it.
@PhillyHouse
Go preach your Malcolm X propaganda crapola somewhere else.
Jim Brown is a RACIST. Always has been and always will. PERIOD.
Don’t play the “white man kept him down” excuse for why he is such a douchebag. It’s people like you that continue to make excuses for bad behavior that nobody takes the “I grew up in the ghetto defense, the racial profiling defense, racial discrimination defense, etc. etc. etc. serious anymore. People like you have PLAYED IT OUT.It’s old, it’s unoriginal, its ABSURD!!!!!!
So go back to jesse Jackson’s “how to shake down corporations by extortion” class, or Al Sharton’s “How to extort city governments by threats of riots” class.
The Browns organization that is starting the ring of honor was founded as an expansion team in 1999. Their ring of honor should only include Tim Couch and Brady Quinn.
Philly house, while what you say is true, Ali and Russel have never been arrested for assaulting a woman.I met Ali and he was a very gracious and engaging and smiled for pictures if someone wanted one, as opposed to what Brown did to BigOx.Remember this, not all white are the enemy!
The Browns should make this right. There is no reason for Jim Brown to have any hard feelings. I hope they can patch things up before the ceremony!
JAJ: Do you need some schooling? You aren’t making a lick of sense.
I ain’t crying, chief. I’m stating facts. Sorry that you have to result to asinine, hackneyed cliches because you can’t have a logical debate.
So tell me, why is Jim Brown “an Uncle Tom”?
I hope your head doesn’t explode when you’re trying to think of the answer to that question….
@ Duan:
Thanks. You’re right. Calling Jim Brown a “racist” is stupid.
You make some good points. One thing that you probably already know about Brown is that he has a tremendous amount of pride and dignity.
Either way, I hope Jim Brown and the Cleveland franchise can come to a resolution.
Jim Brown an Uncle Tom?
Please google that term, as you clearly do not understand it.
Brown would have made 4x as much money if he were an Uncle Tom, but he isn’t.
Is there a star player in Cleveland as of today? In any sport? Wonder why?
meatball, I don’t think anyone would argue that Brown is a pain in the ass who does what he wants when he wants.
But some of the anti-Brown comments go beyond that. I think that is the point being made by his “defenders”.
Since Obama was elected, everyone once again thinks it is perfectly OK to be openly racist. The Cleveland Browns, who are probably owned by a bunch of right-wing teabagging Obama-hating Republicans, are sending a message that blacks are no longer welcome around the Browns by getting rid of their best player ever. You have never seen Bernie Kosar treated that way, and I am sure that the Browns show more respect to Brian Sipe than they do to Brown. The treatment of Jim Brown here reminds me of how white American has come to treat Obama. It is sickening.
Brown is nothing more than a wife/GF beating punk. Always has been, always will.
I love “middle America”.
These people throw a public hissy fit and wet their pants when they get thrown into voicemail or have to deal with someone who does not speak perfect English. They lose their mind when they get to McDonald’s at 11:05a and the manager won’t given them a McMuffin. They act like they’re on a cattle car in 1944 Germany when their flight is 5 minutes late. They threaten to close down a store when someone says “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”.
They fly off the handle over nothing!
But these same people will tell you that someone like Jim Brown should “get over” their experiences with racism and just act ‘normal’ (i.e. like they imagine they act).
The thinnest skinned people alive, the most easily offended, in world history.
Just look at some of the posts above!
DJ – I could not disagree more with your statement.
The owners cannot be members of the Tea Party – after all, they have jobs.
No Tea Party people have jobs. Therefore the Browns owners cannot be members.
Tea Party = White Welfare Party (Farm Subsidies, Medcaire, Medicaid, Social Security that they paid about 2% of over the course of thier lives). They pay no taxes, and take tons of Federal money.
Philly, You can’t use Non-Violent and Jim Brown together. I don’t care what kind of justification you use, the man used to Beat the heck out of Women.

“That would be a shame.”
Do we all have short memories, or what? It wasn’t that long ago that PFT was giving its unsolicited advice to Holmgren on what he should do to improve the Browns, and one of the bits of advice was to stop letting the old retired players (Jim Brown, Bernie Kosar) have so much influence on the organization. Now that the organization has done that, the fact that Brown feels less invested in the organization (as he should), it isn’t a priority for him to come back for some ceremony. This is not a surprising outcome, even Florio et al thought that limiting Brown’s involvement was a good idea just a few months ago, but now, that natural fallout from that “would be a shame.” Sheesh.
Hey, Jimmy, you miserable POS — don’t let the screen door hit ya on your way out…

Philly, I see your point man, but I don’t see them coming to a resolution. Look how long it took Brown to even speak to the Browns after he retired. Now this, I think he’ll go to the grave with the rift and Browns won’t win another title.
DJSlyBri: Nice racist comments while somehow trying to condemn the Browns organization for being racist against blacks. Those comments show your outright stupidity and your inability to see things unskewed by your prism of race. When bad things happen to a black person, in your eyes, it must be about their race. Your comments and your victimization attitude are what is sickening.

“Jim Brown is a RACIST. Always has been and always will. PERIOD.”
Really? Well the white producers in Hollywood were pretty stupid for employing a guy who hated them. I guess the Browns ownership was dumb for employing him, too. And the millions of white fans who admire him are unwitting dopes, as well. And the crazy thing is that Jim Brown has taken Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan to task…publicly. Maybe you meant he hates black people? I don’t know what you’re talking about…
Don’t play the “white man kept him down” excuse for why he is such a douchebag. My point was that the racists DID keep him down. Jim Brown didn’t play…today! He played when I wouldn’t have been able to take a dump in a clean stall. He played at a time when I would have been called the n-word like it was my first name. He played at a time when black athletes would play in front of thousands of whites, but couldn’t live in their neighborhoods.
I wasn’t talking about today. Jim Brown experienced all of that. You may not want to know the truth, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. YOU are the one with the issues, chief. It’s on YOU. Stop with this “reverse discrimination” mumbo jumbo that Rush Limbaugh has fed you.
So go back to jesse Jackson’s “how to shake down corporations by extortion” class, or Al Sharton’s “How to extort city governments by threats of riots” class.
I guess you missed the part of my post when I basically said Jackson and Sharpton are clowns. Don’t assume that all black people think alike. Sharpton and Jackson are irrelevant to me. We actually agree on that point.
But make no mistake: racism exists in this country. You, obviously, are a prime example of how much work we have to do.

You do know Malcolm X changed his philosophy before he died right? After his pilgrimage to Mecca and visiting other countries, his whole philosophy and outlook on race changed and he considered his travels to be an enlightening experience. He was assassinated because he began questioning the purpose of hating people based on their race an preached how his involvement in it and promotion of segregation was wrong.
DJSlyBri, You wonder why 5 guys were picked before him huh, Well 3 of them were Incredible players (John Brodie, Paul Hornung and Len Dawson) 2 of them are in the HOF. Isnt that rich, Non-Violent and Jim Brown together, Im sure those words have never been used by women when describing him.
Racist or not, Jim Brown is just another angry, overly-opinionated old man. He’s no different than any other person of the same description, except: most angry, overly-opinionated old men never had the luxury of putting a negative impact on a sports franchise, and most don’t deserve to be paid a six-figure salary or more to do so. Show me Jim Brown, I’ll show you Al Davis, and let’s be on our way.

Now after all of the ranting you have done about how the white man has kept Brown down, and the rights denied to blacks. How in the world would anyone ever have guessed you like white women?
I guess it’s ok to attack and blame the white man for the struggles of the black man, and the crimes of the black man. But Lord or Lord, the black man sure does love him some white women doesn’t he?
You sir, are a fraud to your own race!
@ Mooch:
You win for best post on this board. Everything you said was SPOT ON, sir!
dwatkins: what proof do you have that Jim Brown beat up women? All I know is that the powers that be would have done ANYTHING to discredit Jim Brown back then. Including telling lies….
So….are you telling me that Brodie, Hornung and Dawson were better than Jim Brown? Are you telling me that black players weren’t passed over for less talented white players in 1957? And you conveniently left out Jon Arnett. You and I have no idea who he is. I sincerely doubt he had a better collegiate career than Brown (even though USC is an admittedly better school than Syracuse). You totally missed my point…on purpose.
Oh yeah, Jim Brown didn’t bomb churches, hang crosses on lawns, or lynch any white kids. That’s the type of stuff that happened to black folks back then. And like I said before, you can’t prove he hit any women. You’re guilty of character assassination.
Jim Brown wouldn’t even be Brandon Jacobs today…
The dude’s incredibly overrated because he played when football was loooked at as a game where the majority of players had real jobs as accountants and in steel mills in the offseason- not a bunch of dudes that have played their whole lives who pump HGH into their bodies..
Now it’s an ultra-competitive industry..he’d be just another dude today..
And he beats woman.. F Jim Brown.
@DJSlyBri…
Maybe Holmgren called out the man for his lack of qualifications rather than just handing him a high profile job for what he did umpteen years ago… PR rep, yes… senior management, no… I seriously doubt if Brown were truly qualified and did a fantastic job that Holmgren would have ditched him. He’d want the best on his side, no matter what color he is.
Screw the bastard… He’s only dissing his fans, and that’s what makes him an ass.
Jim Brown will throw you out the window like he loves to do to white women even though he hates white
Cleveland is the only city to never reach, host or win a Super Bowl. Pathetic.
No one denies Brown faced racism, as did a lot of other players of his era. It is truly disgusting that they had to go through things like being segregated in hotels, restaurants etc. when they traveled as a team not to mention all the other abuses they took. That has ZERO to do with why JB should be scorned. The fact he is a VIOLENT criminal who had no business being any type of advisor to the Browns is the reason he should be disdained. (Let me guess you race baiters are the same ones who love Michael “Ronnie Mexico” Vick and cry RACISM on his behalf also).
RACISM against Brown has ZERO to do with any of the Browns fan backlash against him as far as I have seen. Unless RACISM is why Ozzie Newsome is still so revered in Cleveland even though he is a member of the hated Ravens FO now. CLEVELAND IS RACIST AGAINST JB. (rolls eyes). Racism is a red herring argument. Dude was detrimental to the team in his role as advisor. Randy Lerner is too dumb and too absentee of an owner to know or care, which is why it took Holmie to get rid of him.

Brown got arrested for vandalizing….HIS OWN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Mike Vick because he’s an electrifying player. However, he is the worst kind of role model. I use Vick as an example of how NOT to behave. Mike Vick’s dogfighting wasn’t a “racist” plot. He screwed himself. So I don’t know what you are talking about, sir.
I haven’t said it’s racist for the Lerners or Holmgren to let him go. That’s their prerogative. I don’t know their intent. I just don’t like the stupidity that’s been on display on this thread today. I don’t think you made stupid comments. I just think you’re a little off on your assessments.
Actually, I think Jim Brown would be one of the few who could play now. Size and speed. You look back at some of the players back at that time, and you’d be looking at 200 lb. DT’s.
I get what you are saying, but if Jim Brown were in his prime today he’d also be bigger and faster because of enhanced training (legal or otherwise).
No?
Now, Babe Ruth would have been a .200 hitter if he faced the pitchers in the Negro Leagues…
And Mickey Mantle would have hit about 200 HR’s a year if the Yankee Stadium from WAY BACK had the dimensions of the current one.

That is why I laugh when people knock Al Davis. What I thought to be a good News story that no one has reported on. Is where Bo Jackson said at the Bears pre-season game that if he had been Drafted by the Raiders he would have never played Baseball. Ron Wolf stated that Bo Jackson was never in Football shape when he played because he was playing Baseball. Wolf stated that had Bo just played Football that he would have been the best ever and no back could have touched him.
Many of the teams have went the way of our country, no Honor, Respect, Loyalty or Tradition and it shows. Without those things as a foundation you have nothing. I will take the way Al Davis and the Raiders treat their great players of the past over many of these teams any day.
I agree..although in my opinion of watching highlights of Brown, being only in my late 30′s, Jim Brown was the best RB ever in my opinion, but a complete tool who thinks he can change anybody that doesn’t need it, and is still bitter about how low he was paid 50 years ago and the amount of money RB’s with half his talent make today…Get over it Brown, and quit thinking you are a consultant/former gang therapist/reverend..Good Job Browns, and I am a Steeler fan..

Any potholes near your home? We’ll get our checkbook out. Let us know.
Brandon Jacobs?!?!?
Still to politics, Chiefs. At least you have a D- knowledge of that – you have a solid F in football.
PS – your team sucks.
Now go buy healthcare insurance, you freeloading Tea Bagger.
Way to stay classy Jim.
Awww….Jim Brown’s taking his ball and going home.

“Cleveland is the only city to never reach, host or win a Super Bowl. Pathetic.”
Hosting a Super Bowl isn’t a reflection of anything but the owners preferring warm weather or domed stadiums for the game, idiot. And while they haven’t been to a Super Bowl, there are a few other teams that haven’t as well. Enjoy your team while it’s still in Minnesota, genius.
I don’t blame Jim Brown one bit damn the Browns. Mike Holmgren bitch ass want be around long.
Mooch;
you need some professional help.
the only Federal tax dollars you pay is coming out of your unemployment checks. Now go get a job and pull your weight you freeloading MOOCH.
I’m tired of my tax dollars supporting you with food stamps, unemployment checks and free health insurance.
@Mooch
your arguments are flawed..
that is all, won’t get in a bizarre internet argument with you..
NY, NJ, CA, and Michigan are your stereotyipcial Democratic states… look at their budgets, population declines, lack of growth and innovation, and spending
see you in November, bro.
Oh, and Jim Brown is still an overrated racist from a bygone era.. keep defending criminals, guy.
keep laughing with my tax dollars, creampuff
Chiefs:
You won’t get in a “bizarre internet argument” because you know you’re wrong.
BTW Comparing Jim Brown to Brandon Jacobs is like comparing Wilt Chamberlain to Eddy Curry. You obviously have no clue.
You have helped me laugh today, though. You’re funny, in a Sarah Palin sort of way…
Whatever, call me all the names you want.
Fact – I pay for your state’s cops, fireman, and teachers.
You all seem embarrassed…you should be. Children.
Look at the facts – Blue States are rich earners who pay a larger share of federal tax than they get back. Red States pay lower and get back more.
Now THAT’S a redistribution of the WEALTH!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Go check a book out of the library that I bought you! Check out a book about football, since you have no grasp of the game’s history!
Missouri trash.
Look at median household incomes by state.
You may be rich in Missouri, but you’d be lower middle class where I live!
Missouri trash.
WHICH PRESIDENT SIGNED THE TARP BILL?
ANSWER!
Think of how much more I’d be laughing if I didn;t have to pay more taxes to carry your non-earning behinds. I mean, we pay you people NOT to grow food. At least a crack dealer GOES TO WORK!
PS – NJ has a Republican governor, who I voted for.
So there is something else you didn’t know!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!
Now go get your health insurance, you freeloading Tea Bagger.
Maybe the Chiefs will be story-wrothy one day and you won’t have to jump on Browns stories to post your ignorance.
Missouri trash. And to think, NJ paid for your crappy public school. I am not seeing a good return on my investment!
Chiefs reminds me of Jon Evans, only with less teeth and no sleeves.
November would have been MONSTER for the GOP…if you idiot Tea Baggers didn’t get involved and throw in unelectable dopes.
Harry Reid – dumbest man alive – has a real shot now.
That’s like losing to the Chiefs! Should NEVER happen.
Jealous…
YOU are not paying for foodstamps or illegal immigrants.
I am. Blue states are.
So, don’t worry about it. We – Blue State America – will worry about it.
My local taxes are high, we pay our own way. My federal taxes are high, because we pay your way.
No thanks necessary!
Yeah – I wish we were “innovative” like Missouri and Mississippi.
Do you guys even have fire yet?
I dont blame Jim Brown, they are fazing him out so why shouldnt he faze them out. The greatest Brown of all time is being ignored. The Browns have been nothing since 1964, the year i became a fan. Since they have come back they have been truly a miserable franchise, so i dont blame Brown for disassociating himself with this bunch of losers.
How did this suddenly get so political? There is so much anger, and in parts flat-out hate being written here.
If Jim Brown doesn’t want to attend this ring ceremony then who should care except Jim Brown.
I’m 56 years old and I remember his playing days with Cleveland. The guy averaged 5.6 yards per carry lifetime! That’s nine seasons that didn’t have all the rules in place today to protect everybody from just about everything especially quaterbacks. They didn’t come any better than Brown. Giants Hall of Famer Sam Huff said that Brown was the hardest guy in the entire league to tackle.
So why should anyone here care as to whether or not he attends some copy-cat Cowboys Ring of Honor gig being held in Cleveland? Brown doesn’t and that’s good enough for this old fan.
Lighten up some of you. It’s not the end of Western Civilization as we know it.
Jim Brown has always done what benefits Jim Brown the most. When he had to pick football or his movie career, he considered he’d been in the league for 9 years and he could retire at the top of the game. He chose his movie career.
When the ratbirds went to the Superbowl, he found it advantageous to hang out with the bastard modell again.
When the Browns gave him title, he found it advantageous to hang out with the Browns again. Now that he’s been relieved of his duties in Cleveland, he sees no point in going back for a ceremony that won’t gain him anything he doesn’t already have. If the Browns would pay him or make a huge donation to his charity, he’d be there. He played for the Browns, but he’s only loyal to who’s paying him.
I mean some of the comments up here are so out of control – albeit Mooch, PhillyHouse, David56, Ravens Suck – I agree with a lot you guys are saying.
But DJSlyBri – I have to slightly disagree with you, because there is some distance between Bernie , former players and this new regime.
Which, to an extent, I can understand.
These guys are trying to form a new identity for the organization – especially now that we are in the super bowl era, in which, we have had no real success.
They are trying to break away from the losing era – granted we went to three Championship games, but we never made it to a Super Bowl.
How many other teams been to that many conference championship games, but never made it to a super bowl after that many attempts?
I think some of the comments towards Mr. Brown are senseless and pointless, because a lot of them are more personal and out of pocket in regards to this argument.
The snub by Mr. Brown not attending the ring of honor ceremony is trifling, because the organization is extending an olive branch/token for what he has done for the history of the franchise – but for some of the bloggers to step out and call him some of the things they have, is just out right wrong and stupid.
Brown not being there cheapens the so-called Ring of Honor that Cleveland is having. The best player in Cleveland Brown franchise history skipping the so-called honor.
This could not happen to a nicer city or organization. Maybe Jim Brown could have dinner with LeBron James and say laugh how both franchises stink.
All of you moronic Brown bashers were glad that he played with you and now look at you. No wonder LeBron left the city.
No wonder Cleveland can’t win squat. You Cleveland fans are getting what you deserve. Have fun being life long loooooooosers!!! Your teams will NEVER win anything.
I guess Otto Graham, Marion Motley and Lou Groza not being there will cheapen the ring too?
The Browns never had an honorarium to their players because (f)art modell was too cheap to spring for one. Al Lerner started the Browns Legends program to honor the great Browns players of the past. The ROH is an extension of his program.
All this back-and-forth, political stuff, etc, etc……the bottom line is that Jim Brown is a douch-bag, and this is nothing new.
