Albert Haynesworth says he’ll “never” talk; teammates tired of talking about him

It looks like Albert Haynesworth won’t be using air quotes again anytime soon. Haynesworth declined to speak to reporters Monday, then was asked when he would talk again. “Never,” Haynesworth answered, according to the Washington Post.

With Haynesworth mum again, his Redskins teammates talked for him. And some are clearly growing tired of covering for their teammate:

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, via Mike Jones of TBD.com: “You wish he’d keep things in house . . . Bad judgment. Eventually this has gotta stop with the back and forth . . . but once we start winning some games it’ll all be ok.”

Cornerback Carlos Rogers, via Ryan O’Halloran: “You just shake your head like, ‘What’s next?’”

Defensive line teammate Phillip Daniels: “I guess he was frustrated w[ith] when he played, but i played fourth quarter too. Just play football.”

Just like in the offseason, the Redskins are breaking the normal locker room code of always defending a teammate. Middle linebacker London Fletcher seems to be the one guy with the big picture in mind.

Fletcher spoke with Haynesworth Monday, according to Jason Reid. Fletcher said they had a “good talk” and is convinced Haynesworth is “on board.”

As always, Haynesworth’s petulant actions will speak louder than any words.
