Bills add a tight end

With only one healthy tight end on the roster, the Buffalo Bills needed some help.

They got it Monday with veteran J.P. Foschi, who started 10 games in 2009 for the Bengals.

“I’ve had J.P. for a few stops,” coach Chan Gailey said, per the team’s official website. “He knows our system which is great. He’s a competitor and a tough guy and we can always use those kind of guys.”

Foschi signed with the Bills and then joined the team for practice.

“I’m your typical blue collar tight end,” Foschi said. “Last year was a testament to the Bengals having confidence in me, giving me an opportunity to play and I just took advantage of it. I love to play, the more tired I am the better I feel I play.”

Offensive lineman Nick Hennessey will take some snaps at tight end to ease some of the burden on Jonathan Stupar and Foschi.
