Budding Brady-Ryan feud surely makes fans happy

Things got interesting Monday between the Jets and the Patriots, who’ll renew acquaintances in Week 2 at the new Meadowlands Stadium.

Pats quarterback Tom Brady had something to say about the Jets, and Jets coach Rex Ryan had something to say about the Pats.

In both cities, fans should be smiling.  For more, here’s part one of today’s PFT Daily.

Buddy Ryan should just shut his mouth and coach the Not Yets.

this is one of the biggest non stories I have ever read. I cannot believe that this is getting so much run. Wow, rivals dont like each other, what a stunning development. What next, Muslims and Jews dont get along in Gaza?
Both sides admit the respect the other, this is just the media trying to make something out of nothing.

Leave it to the media to make headlines out of such a non-story. I mean come on, Tom Brady hates the Jets, what a shocker! Rex Ryan hates the Patriots! Say it isn’t so!

  5. kev86 says: Aug 24, 2010 1:36 PM

I’d never pick the Jets to beat Tom Brady and the Pats. Sure he can be beat (anyone can) but to think the Jets are the favorites is just nuts.
Rex should watch how the Giants defense terrorized Brady in the SB. And Brady still almost won.
I wish this lard Rex would adopt Coughlins “talk is cheap” rally cry but that aint happening so we are stuck with tubby shooting off his mouth all season.
Never pick the Jets against Brady and the Pats. You will lose more than you wil win.

Another media creation of a non-story. Both guys said exactly what they should have. They’re rivals.

  8. Mark0226 says: Aug 24, 2010 1:43 PM

@HomelandDefense – I was thinking the same thing. This is such a non-story.

Eli should lend Tom his sharpie. Worked well in Dallas.

Top Two NFL Announcers Things I Hate
    2) I hate how for some reason the term “getting separation” has come to replace the term “getting open.” It’s just stupid.
    1) I HATE! HATE! HATE! the way players, coaches and broadcasters ALL use the word “special” to describe a good player, as in — He’s special/He could be special/You can tell that he’s special/etc. — EVERYBODY says it and I have literally never heard anything more gay in my whole life.

So what is happening in Buffalo these days? Not much you say. Send for Florio, he’ll get things going for you. He can make a non-story a complete non-story. Back in his college days at WV; Am. Lit. Prof. to Florio, “This is the most useless paper ever turned in for a grade I have ever seen Mr. Florio.” Why thank you sir, I’ll try to keep the trend going.”

They have to invent a rivalry because one doesn’t exist. The Patriots have owned, and will always own, the Jesters.

  16. PFTiswhatitis says: Aug 24, 2010 2:51 PM

Yep, as a Pats fan I loved hearing Brady say he hates the Jets. I hate it when he wears that stupid Yankees hat too.
Anyone that thinks the Pats and Jets dont have a rivalry has no clue. There is real hatred there both from the organizations and the fans, starting from the bonehead Parcells backstabbing that cost the Pats a Superbowl.
Damn I need to drop a few F-bombs now.

  17. Hap says: Aug 24, 2010 2:56 PM

So what? Everybody hates The Cowboys.

  18. God Hates Jets Fans says: Aug 24, 2010 3:11 PM

I’m sure Brady is just disgusted by Ryan’s eating habbits, just like the rest of the country.

  19. Pastabelly says: Aug 24, 2010 3:14 PM

It’s better than the Brady-Manning mutual admiration society. Those two need to get a room.

  20. Larry says: Aug 24, 2010 3:52 PM

C’mon guys…the Pats players dislike the jests players…and vice versa…big deal….would you expect Brady to come out in a love fest over the jests ?? No story here…

Even Jason Taylor hates the taint’s, of course he will take there money. Bill

  24. KoaMisiFan says: Aug 24, 2010 4:45 PM

As much as I hate seeing Jason Taylor getting thrown around like a rag doll the last couple of games, you can see on his face when he’s on the sidelines just how miserable he is wearing tha ugly green uniform.
@ampats — there’s no feud here. The jests fans say something, we correct them, life goes on. I personally love the humor they bring.

The score is 50-48-1 in the Jets favor, all time. But thanks for proving once again how much of a know-nothing you, as well as most Pats fans, are.
    _____________________________
WTF? Thanks for proving once again how low you Jesters set the bar of success. 50-48-1 is only for losers trying to make a winning point from way back in the stone age. Take a look at the REAL records the past 15 years.
    AFC East Division Titles:
    Pats 9, Jets 2
    Super Bowl Wins
    Pats 3, Jets 0
    Super Bowl Appearances
    Pats 5, Jets 0
    That’s all that matters.

  27. Doctor Connors says: Aug 25, 2010 1:17 AM

Oh, no! The Jesters have a better regular season record?
The Greatriots dusted them the one time they met in the playoffs, and have 2 more rings.
Who do you guys think you are, Lakers fans? You see, all the Massachusetts teams have a rich history of winning, that’s all we look at.
Hell, we even dominate college hockey. This truly is the sports mecca.
