When we first mentioned Javon Walker’s imminent signing on Monday, we doubted Walker would even make the Vikings roster, much less make a big impact.
He’s got a better chance now with Sidney Rice likely to miss half the season, but we’d still say Walker is a long shot to matter. There’s a reason Walker was still available as a free agent -- his knees haven’t been remotely right since 2006.
Consider Walker a flier; the Vikings don’t really lose anything by signing him and cutting him a few weeks later. Running back Ryan Moats was waived to make room on the roster.
