Jim Sorgi wants to get back on the field before it's too late

Giants quarterback Jim Sorgi has been around long enough to know you don’t make the club in the tub.

“In my mind, I feel I’ve got to play against New England,” Sorgi said when asked if he’s confident he’ll be the team’s backup despite his recent shoulder injury.

“I’m still worried about that decision a little bit,” Sorgi admitted.
“You don’t have much time left until they have to make tough decisions
in this league. I’ve seen those decisions go in a player’s favor and not
in a player’s favor. I’m just going to try to get out there against New
England and hopefully make the decision a little easier on them and
hopefully in my favor.”

These are the kind of struggles that many pros face this time year.  Sorgi was expected to miss a few more weeks, but it sounds like he’s going to be back on the practice field next week.

We just hope he doesn’t re-injure the shoulder in his haste to return and make the Giants’ decision for them.

its a good thing for Jets fans that Sorgi is showing the vigor to get back on the field now, rather than last year..
Because if he rushed back last year, the Jets wouldve never even made the playoffs.
    Viva La Curtis Painter!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should cut him and just keep Eli and Bomar. Bomar looked pretty good the other night against the Steelers. Sorgi is awful!

I could have spent the last few years carrying a clipboard and swimming in jacuzzies for a few mil.
I would like that to continue too.

Yeh, well, he’s an old back-up. If he can’t go they’ll get the next guy. Imagine if you got fired for not proof-reading. I bet you’d do it. He’s going to play, and try and earn his paycheck. Let’s hope he earns it.

    @superb owl
I can just picture Jim Sorgi as the Manning family’s “Biff” from Back To the Future; waxin Eli’s Bentley, pickin up Peyton’s dry cleaning, mowin Archie’s lawn.

Jim is starting to be envious of his brother Georgie, who is now a successful gigolo.
