Former Tusker Jim Haslett will recommend picking him up. He loves his old players, just ask the Rams with all the washed up guys he picked up there like Fakhir Brown. Most of those guys are on the Tuskers now too.

Larry Johnson isn’t THAT bad. He was forced to play against the RAVENS run defense. They might give up a ton of passing yards, but they are still good against the run. Portis got to run against the Bills.
With that said, if LJ is not vibing well in the lockerroom being a back-up, then I could see this happening. Shanahan has never been loyal to a RB, and Portis knows this. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jamal Lewis was the Redskins starting RB by the time the season was over!

Bell’s biggest problem was that he had some success early on due to his natural abilities and so stopped working hard and started feeling entitled.
Shanny loves his own guys and so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him land with the Skins, assuming he’s in some kind of shape.

Bell still has some good runs in him and would make a great #3 guy on the Redskins to insure Clinton Portis’ injury-prone body. He’d move up to a #2 RB on weeks when Portis has to sit out.
