Aubrayo Franklin to sign with 49ers

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin is finally ready to go.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Franklin, the 49ers’ franchise player, will fly to San Francisco on Saturday, take a physical and sign his one-year, $7.003 million tender offer.

Although both sides had indicated they would prefer to work out a long-term deal rather than have Franklin play for a one-year deal, this is still good news for the 49ers, who are getting one of their best players back in time to have him on the field for Week One.

    Oh man, only $7.003 million ?
    We need to drop a food basket in front of this guys home so he can feed his family.
    Wow.
    He is getting so hosed.
    So he is tied for 3rd as the highest paid player at his position ?

    49ers defense is going to be downright scary this season.

    I was wondering when he would show up. This is only going to make the 49ers defense that much better. Scary!

    @AttackRaven
    If it makes you feel any better, Ray Lewis would be second string on our team.

    Hardly worthy of such a splash, was it? There was never any doubt that he would sign. It was simply a much less newsworthy item of ‘when.’ Not many DL men turn their back on a cool 7 mil for one season.

    Wow, Niners are taking the West with ease this year. Its not even about the Offense, its this Defense I would be scared of.

    He was good enough but the “best dt” in the nfl kelly gregg was getting paid and they didnt want to sit his ass. Nolan left with a few things to bring to SF like Franklin and that one guy Coach Singletary and Douglas and they should not have let him go. Ravens D has had its reign its time to move on when the safety can barely stand and your rookies are breaking their head walking up and down stairs.

    No competition, Franklin’s stock went down with RJF’s play so far. I have a really good feeling Franklin is GONE next year.
