Agent: Maurice Jones-Drew did not undergo procedure

Maurice Jones-Drew sat out practice in the middle of this week and won’t play in Jacksonville’s preseason in Tampa Saturday.

But Jones-Drew’s agent insists that a report indicating the star running back underwent knee surgery this week is “absolutely false,” according to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union.

The confusion came from a report by Aaron Wilson of NFP which indicated Jones-Drew underwent an “arthroscopic procedure” for a minor knee injury.  The report said Jones-Drew would still be back before the season opener.

Jones-Drew answered questions about his absence on Thursday, insisting to local print reporters and on the radio that he was fine and was just “resting.”  He was seen running and looking spry at one point through a rainstorm.

In conclusion, we’re not moving Jones-Drew off our No. 3 fantasy ranking

Usually MVPs come from playoff teams. JAX will not make the playoffs. Tony Romo for MVP.

Romo for MVP? So a MVP needs to only make the playoffs, he doesn’t need to show up?

Dallas sucks….never will do anything with Tony Romulus-Romo as their QB

Hard for Romo to be MVP if he’s on his back looking out his earhole all season.
    That o-line is a mess.

Whatever dude – check out Mojo in the Jets game last year (Jags dominated) — especially the first half.
Tell me that guy isn’t the best in the league.
Mojo for MVP, President, and Commissioner of the NFL.

Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Brady, Peterson (looong Shot.)
If your prediction for MVP is not one of the above, you are wrong. I like Jones-Drew, but he isn’t a big enough name to win MVP. In terms of being important to his team, the only person above MJD is Steven Jackson (who is s till he best HB in league, though he will never get the numbers in that hell-hole.)
