NFL teams reduce their rosters in two waves. First, they cut from 80 to 75 by August 31. Then, five days later, each team must be at 53.
For teams that already have played their third preseason game, there’s no reason to wait until Tuesday. The Eagles, who played last night, haven’t.
Gone are guard Zipp Duncan, safety Ryan Hamilton, offensive lineman Greg Isdaner, linebacker Simoni Lawrence, and receiver Jared Perry.
Next Saturday, those five will be joined by 22 more.
