Saints middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma gave the folks in New Orleans a bit of a scare when he left Friday night’s preseason game with a groin injury.
But Vilma says he’ll be just fine.
“Thanks guys for all your posts wishing me luck,” Vilma wrote on Facebook. “i’ll be fine, i’m not letting ANYTHING stop me from showing up to the party sept 9! believe that!!”
That’s very good news for the defending Super Bowl champions. Vilma has started every game but one since joining the Saints in 2008, and he’s arguably the team’s most indispensable player after Drew Brees.
