You can tell how great you are by how many people hate you. I mean really are the Jets as bad as some of you people are portraying them? So they sign a few players with chips on their shoulders or who are on one year contracts trying to prove themselves. That old stupid GM of theirs going out to get players to make his team better, what an idiot. Oh thats sarcasm. Some of you wont realize that. Or realize that you get the best players available to try to win. Keep hating the Jets you just keeping the buzz going. LOL. Clowns.

Who, exactly, is over the hill (besides the Jets defense)?
No running game? 10th in yards last year, 6th in TDs. The year before? 4th in yards, 4th in TDs.
The Jets are the ones with no consistency running the ball. Two years ago, they were 9th and 5th (yards/TDs). Year before that? 19th and 30th. They also lost their best two backs in Jones and Washington. Greene is an unknown and Tomlinson is a bum. An absolute bum.
6-10 may be shooting for the moon for this team.

Probably a little of everything. AT being dominant in pre-megadeal seasons, then letting off the gas after getting the $$$. Belichick is a good coach, but comes from the AJ Smith school of douchebagery, so I wouldn’t doubt there being a coaches circle smear campaign. I disagree with the above assumption on what AT was “sold” as, again, you are privy to this info how? I’m sure you are in the inside, ie, reading Pats blogs and assuming you’re a knowitall Florio clone. AT was/is a passrusher, not a Dallas Clark shadow.Period.

In his third year (’09) he wanted to come back and do his job as usual, that is being a pass rushing LB, one of the best the league has ever seen. What does B.B. do with him? Turns him into a stay at home LB instead of letting him be that pass rusher. What did most critics say the team was missing on defense last year? Yeah, a decent pass rusher. Why didn’t B.B. let the man do the job he knows best. Sorry all you Thomas bashers. This is one of the few things B.B. has done wrong since coming to New England. The fault rests entirely on his shoulders, not that of Thomas.

Second, if he’s so great, and it was just a misuse of schemes, why hasn’t he been picked up yet? Why don’t the Jets want to guarantee his salary?

Patsfansince73 is wrong. Thomas didn’t want to play the way Belichick wanted him to play, and it’s the player who’s supposed to adjust, not the coach. Thomas sold himself as a versatile player and it was a bill of goods – part of his appeal was belief that he could handle the Colts, but he wasn’t used much against the Colts because the Patriots began realizing he was a bill of goods more than a legitimate player. Belichick didn’t let him “do the job he knew best” because Thomas wasn’t doing what he was supposed to do and the longer he was with the team the more he proved to be a cancer.

Enough of the Thomas bashing already. The real fault with his downfall is B.B. period. The first year with the team he had 82 tackles and 6.5 sacks not to mention the pressure he put on QB’s trying to throw. At least the Jets are doing things right with contract negotiations. No sure guarantee money for players and not guaranteeing anything for this clown. Once Mevis caves and gets his injury only guarantee(should there be any other guarantee) the rest of the league will start to follow suit.
Only thing guaranteed is injury protection, signing bonuses and Obama taking his 50% cut for welfare programs of course.
