Eagle, Cards swap draft picks who were picked consecutively

When Cardinals fullback Nehemiah Broughton went down with a knee injury in Saturday’s preseason game, we wondered whether the injury would open the door for the Juggernaut, bitch.

Though it’s possible that Regan Maui’a will get a chance to run through linebackers like thin drywall with lots of holes in it, another fullback has arrived via trade.

Charles Scott has been acquired from the Eagles, in exchange for rookie cornerback Jorrick Calvin.

Both players are rookies, and they each were picked in the sixth round of the 2010 draft.  To make the situation even more strange, Scott was the 31st pick in round six, and Calvin was the 32nd.

And now the Eagles have Calvin and Hobbs as CBs.
Although Asante is the 8 year old kid…

Aw man, I was hoping he could be a short yardage RB, but we have Weaver and Vick for 3rd and 1 so it’s fine. The Eagles traded for another guy who they will cut, just like with the Joe Mays and JJ Arrington trade

Why did the Eagle swap his draft pick?

they have 4 first names between them, that is, if you give his parents a pass on “Jorrick”

I’m a Birds fan, but sometimes Asante rubs me the wrong way. If he keeps hitting like he did in the preseason, I’ll change my tune. :)

Alas, poor Jorrick. I knew him well.

I’m probably wrong, but that sounds like an Escape From New York movie reference! If it is, Florio just went up a few notches in my book!

You are mistaken. Florio remains at his current notch. You have dropped three.

If you throw in Asante Samuel that is a ton of first names.

I think the way Asante hit in that game what is wrong with his tackling all together. He never wraps up he always tries to lounge with his shoulder. When you do that your eyes automatically look away from the ball carry. That makes it impossible for you to see whats going on. Some times he gets lucky and blows the guy up but most of the time he bounces right off them and they keep running. If he spent more time trying to get the guy to the ground and less time launching himself at them he’d be a much better tackler.

Makes sense, if you are going to cut a guy (which both teams were), you might as well bring in a guy at a position of need for a look-see.
No harm no foul when they cut the player after personal evaluation.
This doesn’t look good for Macho Harris though. The birds moved him to safety because they felt they had a greater need there. This makes it obvious that they really realized how awful he is at corner and are praying that he show something at safety.
My guess, Harris is cut in next round of cuts.

The bold is a result of poor software which breaks the text into shorter lines for display.
The text broke right in the middle of a br tag preceded by 18 “=” signs. The br tag was probably automatically generated by the software because it was the replacement for the commenter’s line break the “Enter” key.
If the software was written properly it would not allow a tag to break unless the tag was bad to begin with. Actually, there probably is no need for the lines to break at all using software, since that can be accomplished in much easier ways.

@wydok, your a birds fan? hm. couldnt tell, partly because of the way you down the so called team your a fan of, right. but your wrong, we have samuel, which you prolly couldnt tell me one statistic he had last year if i were to ask, hes a little older than eight. we have hobbs, which is a stepback from sheldon, yes. but we also have trevard lindley in which we drafted. are you aware? hes playing dynamite in the preseason, strong feeling he’ll lock the third CB spot sooner than later, this guy jorrick calvin, bringing in for special teams, punt returns, kick returns, hes taken a few back in his time so far. it also takes alot of potential injuries from desean jackson, rather calvin return kicks from time to time to help, rather than our top wide receiver get hurt, Ya know? or do you? probably not.
