Aqib Talib suspended by NFL one game

Aqib Talib’s cab ride punch from a year ago proved to be quite costly.

Jay Glazer of FOX first reported that Talib will be suspended by the NFL one game for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

We were going to call Glazer to make sure this wasn’t a social experiment, but the Bucs quickly confirmed the report by sending out a press release of their own.

The Bucs reveal that Talib will also be fined an additional game check.  Talib will miss the team’s season opener against Cleveland in the “Hey, we have a good chance to be 1-0″ Bowl.

Goodell wants to keep them guessing. ;)

Gun viloations, violence and DUIs should all get automatic suspensions. Use the severity of the issue, the number of infractions, etc. to determine how many. No reason that VY and the others should not be suspended. Be consistent, swing the hammer on all the turds rather than a select few. Popularity and skill should not effect discipline; when it does, you really have no discipline policy…just random actions with no goal in mind.

Shaun Rogers didnt have the gun on a plane you idiot. He had it in a bag that he tried to check at the airport. Security found it, Rogers felt like an idiot for not unpacking the gun from the bag before he left home, and he got arrested.

Rodger Goodell treats players different when it comes to punishing them. All players should be treated equally for the same crime. And if one gets punished for doing wrong then so should everybody else. (that includes Vince Young)

FinFan68 – Turd Watch and the Comments Ratings are 2 items Florio has ignored since NBC made him rich beyond his wildest dream.
Goodell is a day late and a few dollars short on his timeliness of this Talib suspension.
But at least he addressed the issue (finally), unlike Florio, who likes to keep the PFT readership guessing yet has plenty of time to promote shavers and Sprint and countless other things.

No, he did not get the gun on the plane…but you are the idiot if you believe that ridiculous story. Nobody just grabs a random bag and adds stuff to it (without looking to see what is in it) before going on a trip. Are we to presume he stores the gun in a bag at the house? He packed the gun in the bag; he did not “forget” it was in there. This is similar to Paris Hilton’s “it wasn’t my purse” excuse when she got busted for coke again.

I knew this guy was special the second he blasted his own teammate in the face at the Rookie Symposium.

Actually FinFan, the gun was one he travelled with to Cleveland (he drove from somewhere, cant remember where). He has a concealed weapons license and had the gun in his bag on the trip. A few days later he went on another trip, grabbed that bag along with his others and headed to the airport.

Wasn’t that the guy who hijacked one of the panes and crashed it into the twin towers?
“Talib will miss the team’s season opener against Cleveland in the “Hey, we have a good chance to be 1-0″ Bowl.”
This could very possibly be the funniest thing I’ve ever read on PFT.

In a related story, Roger Goodell has decided to levy a 1 game suspension on Flozell Adams for that incident he had in 2002
