It was announced days ago that Roethlisberger would fly to New York immediately after our final preseason game Thursday night. Doubt any of us believed Goodell would meet him at the airport, so it was understood that they’d meet on Friday. The only thing new in this piece is that Mike Wise has been suspended. Good news, but not good enough. He should have been fired.

Goodell’s been setting this up for weeks.
Think of all the players he’s let slide lately–players who have been arrested, or charged. [And the little slip in the interview about the suspension could be less than four.] He realizes that he overeacted to Ben’s situation and he’s trying to lessen the impact when he knocks it down to 2 or 3.
When Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon, didn’t he let the draft dodgers off as well, to lessen the public outcry?

You read it here: Ben will be suiting up against the Ravens in week 4 [who incidentally, haven't beaten him in about 5 years]

I was pleased to see the Post take action against “Wise guy.” With his Twitter identifying himself “of the Washington Post” he brought their credibility into play. He’s lucky he didn’t get fired. It’s not the Washington Times we’re talking about here.
But I was also pleased to see PFT get jerked around a little. Just a little. We are junkies and so that’s why we’re here.
Big Ben’s “vacation” is set for 4-6 games. I’ll get the Raven ravers something to choke on here. The commish is so happy with Ben’s attitude adjustment he’ll reduce to 3 games…..jsut in time for Ben to play against Baltimore Week 4 at Heinz.

I have a feeling the Steelers know something the fans do not know. Big Ben starting two preseason games makes me wonder…will the suspension be less than 4 games? I know there was an interview where Goodell was asked this question, and he gave a very vague answer…Fingers crossed that Ben will be back sooner rather than later.
