DeAngelo Hall says Redskins misdiagnosed Malcolm Kelly’s injury

We aren’t done with Malcolm Kelly drama for the year after all.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said on ESPN 980 (via the Washington Post) earlier this month that Kelly’s hamstring injury was misdiagnosed by the Redskins staff. (No word if Hall asked the radio hosts to take off their heels before the interview.)

“They thought it was one thing, he ended up finally getting a second opinion three weeks later, and we find out it was something a heck of a lot worse than they ever thought it was,” Hall said. “So we’re here babying Malcolm, saying, ‘He’s a baby, he’s a baby, get out there and play,’ when he has a Grade 2 strain. And they’re around here saying it’s a Grade 1 and there ain’t nothing wrong with him.”

Hall didn’t use airquotes, but this is the second time a Redskins player has criticized the Mike Shanahan regime for minimizing an injury. Pressed on Tuesday where Kelly tore his hamstring or strained it, Shanahan had this to say:

“What’s the difference? Tear, strain. Same thing. Just different terminology.”
