Ryan Harris goes down while Tebow turns it over

The main goal in the fourth week of the preseason is to avoid injuries to starters and help young players develop.

The Broncos are struggling on both counts Thursday night.

In left tackle Ryan Clady’s return to the lineup, Broncos right tackle Ryan Harris suffered an ankle injury.  He is doubtful to return.

Tim Tebow, meanwhile, is showing how far he has to go as an NFL quarterback.  He fumbled his first snap, which rolled back through his center’s legs.  Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson took it the other way for a touchdown.

Tebow made a few nice plays on his next drive, but then threw an interception on a late throw over the middle.

UPDATE:  Tebow got going after the slow start against the Vikings reserves.  He rallied to finish 12-of-16 for 167 yards and a touchdown with the two turnovers.  Brady Quinn also looked sharp.

The defence is winning this game, 3 fumbles a sack and a pick. Tarvaris Jackson needs to be dumped!

Tebow has looked like Jesus compared to Tarstar Jackass… if T-Joke is on this team in the morning, Brad Childress owes every season ticket holder, and anyone who has purchased tickets or merchandise a written letter of apology for knowingly not putting togather a team with the best players possible. T-Joke finishes the night with TWO WHOLE PASSING YARDS. Get f—-n real.

I’m not a Tebow fan at all, but to be as neutral as possible, he’s a project player. Anybody who thought he’d be an instant success in the NFL optimistically ignored the pro-level skill set he never developed in college.

Gregg, you are being very tough guy tonight. For someone that doesn’t even seem to proofread his own work (hey I’M not paid to write), ease up on a guy who’s now 10/11 for 113. You’d think he was Ryan Leaf the way you “write”.

Harris should be ok. Meanwhile, don’t be a douche. The INT was Tebow’s fault but if you actually watched the snap, Walton’s fat ass got in the way and it never got to Tebow.

The kid is 12 for 13 right now with the pick and fumble. That is not a bad night for a ROOKIE.

Vikings Fan: Look at us, beating the Broncos while the Packers are getting throttled by the Chiefs! We’re gonna win the Super Bowl!
Packers Fan: Thought you said pre-season doesn’t matter?
Vikings Fan: Well.. er.. umm.. Aaron Rodgers is gay!
    Packers Fan: /facepalm

No quarterback is an instant success, with the possible exception of Tom Brady.

it wasnt a bad game for Tim Tebow, he played ok.

Rosenthal, your antipathy toward things Christian is noticeable. Just want to say, the Big Coach in the Sky — yes, the REAL God, as opposed to the NFL or NBC or Florio — knows you very well.
And He still wants you on His sideline. Good luck in the biggest game of all, kid.

that fumble looked like itwas the centers fault. never got the ball up to the qb. was having all kinds of problems letting linemen just walk around and past him as well.

Wow. Tim Tebow in the same sentence as Brady Quinn. That probably won’t be the last time you hear THAT.

Tim Tebow will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Deal with it.

What do you guys have against Tebow?
When Vince Young or Vick put up a stat line like
12-of-16 for 167 yards and a touchdown with the two turnovers
you act like they are the second coming. If Tebow gets time, he will be a good NFL QB. He is humble andhas what it takes to get better, all of these other athletic guys that you trumpet think they are great and can’t get any better.

Tom Brady didn’t play until his Second season.

I admit, Tebow seems to be behind Bradford in pro development, but I’m excited for the future. Tebow just has so many outstanding qualities to work with, and it’s refreshing to see a young super star with such a positive and humble attitude. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!

  17. purpleguy says: Sep 3, 2010 10:56 AM

Tebow looked just okay. First, he was playing mostly against the 3rd teamers, not the 2nd teamers. Second, the fumble was entirely his center’s fault. Third, his throwing motion still sucks and the INT was entirely his fault. Fourth, during the post-game handshake time, it looked like Chilly was french kissing his ear. Fifth, T-Jack truly sucks. Sixth, T-Jack really, really sucks.

I like the way the Vikings rookie QB looks. If Farve goes down maybe he should get a shot.

  19. FrankoBollo says: Sep 3, 2010 11:54 AM

Yeah the Vikings sure got a “full dose of Tebow” all right — as in a full dose of turnovers!
Seriously, somebody explain all the hype. Why are we supposed to be so excited about this guy?
Except maybe for the fact he puts up better numbers once the third-string defense gets in there.

  20. BAtkins63 says: Sep 3, 2010 2:55 PM

The Vikings back 7 on defense last night were primarily 1st & 2nd teamers. Look it up.
Tebow’s INT was not a late throw. That was a timing route out of PA(play action) Tebow’s back was to the defense and he turned & fired. Crap happens. Maybe he should have put some air under it – just a little – but that would have required the WR to make an adjustment. No harm. Class was in session. Best thing, Tebow didn’t pull a Leinart or Nacho Sanchez and hang his head.
Alot of promise in that Tebow kid.

Did any of you Tebow haters see his TD pass? it was a pefect throw. Give him a year to learn the playbook and he will lead the Bronco’s to the playoffs
