The Cardinals released 16 players on Friday, none of whom are named Matt Leinart.
The team still has three moves left to make on Saturday, when we learn Leinart’s fate. The team’s early list contained some notable names, however.
By our unofficial count, linebacker Cody Brown is the first second round pick from the 2009 draft to get dumped. (Brown was taken No. 63 overall; he was trying to convert from a college defensive end to outside linebacker.)
The Cardinals also placed linebacker Gerald Hayes on the reserve/PUP list, knocking him out for the first six weeks of the season. Rookie Daryl Washington is going to be a key player on the Cardinals defense to open the season.
Other Cardinals released on Friday include: OL Herman Johnson, OG Tom Pestock, RB Charles Scott, DE Jeremy Clark, DE John Fletcher, OG Jonathan Palmer, WR Ed Gant, CB Justin Miller, CB Trevor Ford, WR Mike Jones, WR Onrea Jones, WR Isaiah Williams, TE Anthony Becht, OLB Stevie Baggs, LB Monty Beisel, and LB Mark Washington, who was waived/injured.
Scott was a sixth-round pick of the Eagles that was traded last week. He could land on the practice squad.

At least Skelton and Hall are kept on the team.
Not surprising that Rosenbum is too stupid to list CB Justin Miller as a newsworthy cut. The former 1st round pick by the Jets out of Clemson might have been a longshot to make the roster but his cutting is significant. At least Greggor didn’t have any typos for a change.
The Cardinals are back everyone! Back to being a little less than mediocre that is.
@BRASHO
Miller was drafted in the 2nd round. He was the Jets second 2nd round pick that year behind Mike Nugent.
How did Monty Beisel last this long?
