We noted on Wednesday that the Cardinals had a better chance of trading guard Reggie Wells than Matt Leinart, even if the move was a long shot.
On Friday, they found a taker. The Eagles acquired Wells to add to their offensive line depth. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the deal is for a sixth-rounder.
For now, the Eagles are saying that Wells won’t necessarily be a starter. But he’s due $2.4 million and we wouldn’t be surprised to see another move along the Eagles line to go with this.
The move also means that Deuce Lutui has a starting job again in Arizona.
Hopefully this means the other half of the Andrews sisters can leave. Adios Stacy!
You mean like ditching the other Andrews? If only.
The 6th rounder they had to give up I think is the draft pick they get for cutting JJ Arrington, so basically they got a solid guard for nothing!
That O-Line was horrible all Pre Season I wouldn’t be shocked to see Stacy Andrews gone and maybe even Max jean Gilles.
Can he play center? Any word on this guys capabilities?
Now trade Stacy Andrews to the Giants so the Panty Bros can reunite
Makes no sense to release Andrews unless there is an absolute conflict with that 53rd roster spot! Have to pay him $5mil regardless….might as well keep him for depth.
How deep do they need to be at guard? They have at least 5 guards on the roster with starting experience. Losing one that can’t play won’t hurt any. Give the spot to someone that’s earned it, not someone who’s overpaid just so the FO can go into CYA mode.
Is this dude any good? He can’t be that good if the Cards just wanted a 6th rounder for him.

Sean Andrews has been solid in 2 games so far for New York. He was laying people out last night.
I dont care what happened when he was with Philly. That organization has a knack for ruining good players. The guy didnt make it to the pro bowl twice by accident, always being a psycho. Which tells me he was unhappy = poor leadership, no clear line of vision, felt no worth.
Yes please do trade his brother to the Giants, so Ahmad Bradshaw can smash your defense’s face in.
Wells was a decent contributor in AZ for the last few years. We hate to see him go, but we have a glut of OL and he has a decently-large contract and is on the downside of his career.
He will be solid in spot work and may even take over as a starter.
Great guy, solid player. Unfortunately he was a victim of the numbers game more than anything here in AZ.
@ nohopeleft – How do the Eagles ruin good players? Ummm…..as an Eagles fan I know they haven’t won it all but to dispute your idiotic statement, they’ve sent a ton of guys to the pro-bowl over the years and clearly have had talented teams. Don’t the Giants “ruin” good players actually? How about, Michael Boley -bust, Rocky Bernard- bust, Chris Canty- bust. Also, yes, please be a good little sucker and buy Shawn Andrews act. He lulls you in thinking he’s going to play and then one day….a “tweak” in his back will sideline him.
you can tell nohopeleft really knows his stuff. who exactly did phillys front office/organization ruin??
fyi its *shawn* andrews…not sean andrews.
Yes, yes. Like when the Eagles ruined Jeremiah Trotter, Hugh Douglas, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, Shawn Barber, Carlos Emmonds, John Runyan, Tra Thomas, Michael Lewis, Lito Sheppard, Corey Simon, Darwin Walker… all those guys had such immensely successful careers after being under-appreciated by the dysfunctional Philadelphia front office.
Also, reading “…so Ahmad Bradshaw can smash your defense’s face in” was awfully reminiscent of a “my dad can beat up your dad” taunt. Is it possible that you’re a five-year-old, or is it that you just don’t know very much about football?
Good move…cut JJ arrington and pick up Reggie Wells for free…we can certainly use Wells much more than Arrington or Mays.
Don’t like the Eagles, but this was a good move for them at little cost.

You guys traded Joe Mays for Arrington and got a 6th for cutting Arrington
NOHOPELEFT, when has Ahmad Bradshaw ever done ANYTHING vs Philly?? Yeah, he’s a decent player, but he’s NEVER “smashed” Philly’s defense. I look forward to watching our defense contain Bradshaw. There is SOOOO much speed on our D!! Remember we have Bradley back this season. Last time he was our starter, Philly’s D was ranked 3rd overall. Some people want to say our D is undersized, but they were “undersized” in ’08 when they finished 3rd overall too.

Who cares if he can play center Jamaal Jackson is without a doubt the starter week 1 and he is better then most.
I was hoping yesterday that they somehow traded for Logan Mankins. This is a decent consolation
@nohopeleft
Uhhh… nobody who has left Philly recently has had a good career, and they haven’t “ruined” good players. P.S. Ahmad Bradshaw has never done anything against the Eagles. Good one…
Lets examine the careers are these players after they left by our ignorant friend: Jeremiah Trotter, 2 years in WASH, came back TWICE to the Iggles makng 2 more PB. Hugh Douglas, signed big contract wth Jags, Released after 1 year came back to the Eagles (they must have liked it?)Troy Vincent & Bobby Taylor – made way for Lito and Sheldon who both mad PB. Taylor played another year as a nickel back the left football. Vincent had to move to safety bc he was 35 years old and Only Buffalo took him. Shawn Barber, he too came back and has always been injured. Carlos Emmonds, pro bowler as an Eagle played a couple more years with the Giants nothing. John Runyan never played another snap after being rleased…eah, great career after…ass! Tra Thomas, Played 1 year with JAX, and JUST RETIRED! Michael Lewis might be the only ok player here but he as a good first 3 years and has gone donwhill evry yar after. Lito Sheppard…played 1 year with JETS, and he’s gone. Corey Simon out of football in his 20′s. and Darwin Walker. please Darwin Walker?
