Elvis Dumervil looks headed for injured reserve

The massive amount of injuries in Denver could make carrying injured linebacker Elvis Dumervil on the roster a luxury the team can no longer afford.

Dumervil tore his pectoral muscle and there was some hope the team would keep him on the roster for a possible return in December.  But NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi says Dumervil will hit injured reserve on Saturday.

The injury to right tackle Ryan Harris — who the Denver Post calls “questionable to doubtful” for Week One — was the latest setback for Denver’s depleted roster.

UPDATE: Dumervil confirmed the news on his Twitter page.

They should play the theme to M*A*S*H* when they take the field for home games.

Ouch. Big bummer for the Donkeys and Elvis. Hard to hate a guy with a name like that, especially when he plays so well too.
