David Martin included in Dolphins cuts

The agent for tight end David Martin has confirmed to Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that his client was among the Dolphins’ final cuts Saturday.

It was a shock to all of us,” agent Terry Williams said.
Martin was joined on the list of cut-downs by the following players:
Defensive tackle Montavious Stanley
Defensive end Lionel Dotson
Defensive tackle Ryan Baker
Linebacker J.D. Folsom
Linebacker Austin Spitler
Cornerback Kevin Hobbs
Offensive lineman Andrew Gardner
Offensive guard Donald Thomas
Linebacker Erik Walden
Quarterback Wide receiver Pat White (but you already knew)
The Dolphins will move forward with Anthony Fasano and John Nalbone at tight end, though it’s likely they’ll be watching the waiver wire closely for the rest of the day.  The Fins need reinforcements at the position.

Wow, Donald Thomas? This guy came into camp as a rookie last year and displayed a lot of potential. Guess the injury bug caught up to him! Too bad…

That was a bigger surprise then Pat White, we can only hope they can pick up a good tight end from a team with extra tight ends who are better then David. Bill

Indeed. I though this was a great training camp signing for Miami.
Good for John Nalbone, though. I know the coaching staff likes him, they are just looking for more consistency.
Salguero of the Herald speculates MIA may resign Martin after week one. By releasing Martin, MIA avoids having his entire salary guaranteed.

now that is a surprise for me. didnt see martin cutting cut. glad pat white is done. would like to see fins pick up a TE before the season starts, not much of a fasano fan

Thomas and Walden are the most suprising to me. How does Quinton Moses continue to make this roster?

no 1 cares about him and they had a whole article on him before about being cut

whole article or not, the site is quick to point out how they already told yuo guys were cut and keep them on the list given.
Therefore, your reasoning is incorrect. If the publisher wants to point out how good he is at informing us earlier, I am going to inform him when he messes up an article and misses a player.
This is the best site going, but all to often are words missing or simply have the wrong word in the wrong place. It lacks professionalism.
Point out everyone and make sure you have a third round draft bust on the list who was also ranked as the number 1 wr coming out of high school when he went to USC.
So paintman, paint yourself silly. Don’t be so ignorant, sit back and relax

The Martin cut was surprising. Fasano looked to be returning to form (with Martin). We do need another tight end that can catch. A trade for Olsen would be great but I don’t see it. Maybe Thigpen and/or draft pick? Either way a deal like that would be costly. Any decent vet tight ends get waived?
