Eagles cut 11, down to 55

The Philadelphia Eagles are almost — but not quite — down to the 53-man roster limit after announcing today that they’ve cut 11 players.

The players released are wide receiver Chad Hall, wide receiver Jordan Norwood, tight end Cornelius Ingram, center A.Q. Shipley, guard Dallas Reynolds, guard Fenuki Tupou, defensive end Eric Moncur, defensive tackle Jeff Owens, linebacker Tracy White, safety Macho Harris and safety Quintin Demps.

Harris has to be considered a major disappointment, considering that he was a Week One starter as a rookie after being drafted in the fifth round last year. Harris moved from safety to cornerback this offseason, and now he’s moving on and moving out of Philadelphia.

The Eagles’ roster is currently at 55, so two more moves will need to be made this afternoon.

Thr problem wasn’t so much letting Dawkins leave….it was not having anyone halfway competent to replace him.

You know what’s funny; the Eagles try their best to sell you (the fans) on young talent like they’ve found the next diamond in the rough to end up cutting them the next season.
Demps was the heir apparent to Dawkins and the very reason why they let Weapon X walk. How’d that work out?
Then Macho comes in the next season and supplants Demps for the starting spot. Now where is he?
Way to go you bunch of genius’!!!
And who is the starter at safety this year…another rookie.
Should have kept your proven vet to coach those young guys up you cheap bastards.

Dawkins was past his prime. He looked very old the second half of the season in Denver. As stated above, the problem wasn’t letting Dawk go…that was the right move. The problem was not grooming his replacement before he left.

No f-in’ way! They cut Macho Harris and Quentin Demps?
The secondary is going to be the downfall of the Eagles…if the O-line doesn’t do them in first!
But, on the plus side we’re loaded at Defensive End!
