Patrick Turner doesn't make the Dolphins roster

The most disappointing 2009 draft picks are starting to get their walking papers.

Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins wide receiver Patrick Turner has been informed of his release.  The third-round pick was cut despite Greg Camarillo’s trade to Minnesota.

We followed Turner’s progress through the offseason, and most of it wasn’t pretty.  Showing once again how tough to evaluate draft prospects are, Darlington reports that undrafted rookies Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace made the team over Turner.

Both UDFA Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore played better than him, Turner is trash

Nice. Moore and wallace gonna see more playing time. I’m all for that. Hartline in the 4th eases the pain of taking this jerkoff in the 3rd. Bess had 4th most catches in dolphins history last year (76). I like this group

3rd round USC, Hartlinbe was drafted in the next round and is much much better.

Turner would make a better TE than WR.

He looked like he could have been good…oh well. No surprise here, his routes were sloppy and he catches 50% of the easy ones. He had good size but he just didnt seem to want to play

Because this year’s draft was the best in years, teams can afford to dump last years non- performers.

There’s a lot of regimes out there that would keep players almost out of ego,–Tavaris Jackson comes to mind, but I’m glad Miami’s regime know when to move on.
I’m a big fan of the underdog, so I think it’s awesome that a player (or players) get rewarded for their hard work and not just because of their draft spot–undrafted FA–Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore. Davonne Bess is another great example–a guy that went undrafted, yet out performed players that year that were drafted very high. Also, see Wes Welker–one of the absolute great undrafted free agents.

It’s okay Pat, you can always join Petey (Pete Carroll) in the home of Starbucks Coffee!!!
