Ravens pick Cundiff over Graham, cut more players

Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports that the Ravens have decided on Billy Cundiff over Shayne Graham as their Week One placekicker. Coach John Harbaugh, a former special teams coordinator, rewarded Cundiff for a superior preseason performance, instead of going with Graham’s Pro Bowl track record.

Cundiff won the job fair and square. Graham was released Saturday.

Wilson also reveals a number of roster cuts. They are as follows:

Cornerback Travis Fisher
Wide receiver Eron Riley
Tight end Davon Drew
Offensive tackle Devin Tyler
Linebacker Albert McClellan
Cornerback Prince Miller
Defensive back Brad Jones

It’s believed rookie draft picks Arthur Jones, a defensive tackle, and David Reed, a wide receiver, have both made the 53-man roster. Athletic, if developmental, offensive tackle Ramon Harewood remains safe as well. For now.
