Eagles bring back Max Jean-Gilles

As the Eagles tried to finalize a trade for guard Stacy Andrews on Saturday, they ran out of time. They had to reduce the roster to 53, and they had to keep a spot for the guy they intended to trade.

So guard Max Jean-Gilles was cut, and then Andrews was traded.

Now that Andrews is gone, the Eagles as expected has brought back Jean-Gilles. The team announced the move on Sunday.

The move entailed some risk. As a vested veteran, Jean-Gilles could have signed with any team. The Eagles guessed that he’d return -- and they guessed right.

If they’d only guessed right about Stacy Andrews in March 2009, they could have cut Jean-Gilles and not worried about bringing him back.
