Report: Seahawks don't want Matt Leinart

Matt Leinart is looking for work, and he can’t count on his old college coach to hire him.

It’s been widely speculated since it became clear that Leinart had no future in Arizona that he could hook up with his USC coach, Pete Carroll, and sign with the Seahawks. But that reportedly won’t happen.

Clark Judge of CBSSports.com, citing persons close to the team, says it’s not going to happen.

The Seahawks are content going into the season with Matt Hasselbeck as the starter and Charlie Whitehurst as the young quarterback they’re developing for the future. There’s no room for Leinart in Seattle.

And that raises the question of where there will be room for Leinart. If the two coaches who know Leinart best — Ken Whisenhunt and Carroll — don’t want Leinart, that may send a message to the league’s other 30 head coaches that they shouldn’t want Leinart either.

We’ll see if Pete changes his tune once Hasselbeck inevitably goes down for 3-4 weeks.

Leinart could very well wind up in Cincy, where J.T. O’ Suckivan has failed to impress. Jordan Palmer, too, has underachieved, but he’s Carson’s brother, so he’s not going anywhere.
Carson Brownpalmer is running the Bengals. T.J. Houshmanpalmer is en route to Cincinnati as we speak.

Wow, I thought for sure Seattle would give him a shot at least as the 3rd Qb.

Maybe he’s playing blackjack in Vega$ with Jamarcus.

Leinhart isn’t going anywhere till he renegotiates his contract. No one is paying that loser the money he expects.

HHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Leinart, I bet you wish you could rewind to those skanks in the hottub with all that ectasy and beer bong…You never cared about football, c’mon….Shoot me straight there, LA…

I agree with you 100%. However, didn’t this whole fiasco start because Leinart thinks he is good enough to start? If Palmer can somehow stay healthy then Leinart won’t have a chance to play in Cincy.

    Young quarterback?
Whitehurst is what, 26 or 27?
He still needs 2 years of learning, then he will have 2 or 3 years of football left and then his skills will diminish.
QB of the future? My @ss…

He doesnt have a contract to renegotiate…he was “released” from his contract…football 101…dork

There’s no room because Whitehurst already makes a ton of cash. It has nothing to do with not wanting him and everything to do with saving cash.
You guys have been reporting on how much they paid Whitehurst all summer, but you can’t connect the dots here? Or did you just ignore them so you can diss Leinart?

“does always making up these cutsie names for people in your mind supposed to make you appear clever?”
Yes. But as profound as I am, I don’t know what a cutsie is, but I suspect it has something to do with what your parents wanted to do to their wrists after your birth.

Sadly, he didn’t even have the guts to compete for a starting position, to win it back, to provide compelling reason to keep him around.
Why would any team pick up a guy with the work ethic, disposition, and urgent drive of a Sloth?

If Petey does nto hos USC QB, that should tell every NFL coach something! Matty’s should go to one of the following teams to be a back-up, Indy, New England, J’Ville, Cleveland, K.C. or Wshington.

Banish him to the frozen wasteland otherwise known as Buffalo.

I’m not sure Leinart is as bad as what he seems….(hear me out now or read me out ..whatev)
I think his confidence has been crushed..from golden boy and apparent starter for the Cards then Warner comes in who we all know was pretty f’n good commin’ in. Then he becomes backup and can’t snatch reins away from Warner and honestly…who could’ve? Give him a chance in a new system. Some may laugh but i agree somewhat w/ ochostinko. Cincy may be the place. Palmer hasn’t impressed since Knee injury and behind him aint much. I believe if he were in Cincy he’d still be #2 but far ahead of whats currently there. 1 more bad season from Palmer after whats prob gonna be Bengals best team in awhile and even Pappa Brown might get a wandering eye

I would have taken this article seriously except they took it from a guy who is fan blogger at CBS. Anyone of us could have written that article and said we have sources. He isn’t actually a journalist or has anything to do with CBS sports or CBSsportline. He is just a guy who filled out his blog page so it looks he is a hired blogger. I think I might start doing that and make up bogus news just to f around with people. HA.

    DARTH 0BAMA…
You know what I’m talking about you moron. It’s really hard explaining each and every nuance so brain-deads like yourself can keep up.
Here… let me dumb it down for you.
Leinhart isn’t going to get near the money he did with Arizona. So he has to negotiate a much cheaper deal if he expects to play football in the NFL.
There… you understand now stupid? Or do we all have to waste bandwidth spelling it out for clowns such as yourself?
Go check for spelling errors. D’ouchebag.

  21. Jordon Cooper says: Sep 5, 2010 1:11 PM

Matt Leinhart will be playing for the Toronto Argonauts by 2012. Sadly I am not being sarcastic.

Sorry, let me dumb it down for stupid people like krow…

    HUH?
What u sed was stupid and incorrect… just own it instead of fabricating a story as to what u meant. No one with any brains wud think that ur original statement wud translate to ur explanation….and im typing on my cell phone so u will have to forgive the shorthand/spelling errors….dork

No Darth… you’re just an as$hole. Go hook up with some of your Teabagger pals. Tell each other how clever you are. Stupid redneck cracker. Quit talking football. Pussies like you shouldn’t… really.
