Titans waive Blount, add Rolle to practice squad

The Tennessee Titans’ roster moves today included bringing back a Rhodes Scholar and saying goodbye to a punch-thrower.

The team has announced that Myron Rolle, the Florida State safety turned Oxford student, has been signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers. Other players signed to the Titans’ practice squad include: DL Hall Davis, WR Dominique Edison, CB Pete Ittersagen, C Kevin Matthews and LB Patrick Trahan.

The Titans also waived a player whose reputation from his days in college isn’t quite as sterling as Rolle’s: Running back LeGarrette Blount, best known for throwing a nationally televised punch last year when he was at Oregon, has been placed on waivers, as has linebacker Stanford Keglar.

The Titans have also been awarded two veteran linebackers off waivers, Tim Shaw and Patrick Bailey.

  1. Irony of Irony- LeGarrette Blount was going to sign with the niners and decided to go with the titans thinking that was a better shot.
    Then Coffee retired…
Blount would have probably been the 2nd or 3rd rb in SF, instead he will lucky to be on someones practice squad….

  2. I guess Myron is too smart for the regular roster. When are they going to quit persecuting the poor guy? Don’t they realize the damage they are doing to his future political career?

  3. Glad to see someone picked up Patrick Bailey.. And it’s Tennessee, not Oakland or Buffalo.. Haha.. He plays hard and is a special teams demon.. He played well at OLB in the preseason, but with James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley in front of him, and the drafting of Jason Worilds and Thaddeus Gibson, he was caught in a numbers game..

  4. He is the one “troublesome” player that I would welcome onto the roster. There are very few others. This kid got a really bad wrap for being really stupid for about 5 seconds. Other than that brief mental blow up, he’s a football player.
Sign him Al (oh wait, Al’s still in bed).
