Bucs bag Blount

After he was waived by the Titans, LeGarrette Blount has been claimed by the Buccaneers.

Blount, the former Oregon running back best known for punching Boise State’s Byron Hout last year, is headed to Tampa Bay, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Although Blount didn’t play well enough to make the Titans’ 53-man roster, he was impressive enough in training camp and the preseason that Titans coach Jeff Fisher indicated he would have signed Blount to the practice squad if he had gone unclaimed.

Instead, Blount is headed to Tampa.

This guy has Pacman Jones like potential and now that he’s paired up with Aqid Talib, sky is the limit.. They both like to blast teammates in the face and I have no doubt they will take it to the next level..

Blount’s “speed” was impressive in college; it’s glacial in the NFL. He lacks elusiveness, has inconsistent hands, is a marginal blocker (at best), and–obvious–brings considerable baggage. Why anyone would waste a roster spot on this loser is beyond me…

With the first pick of the 2011 draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select….. David Beckham.

Talib and Blount can beat each other up on the bench.

    Blount should think about MMA

  15. majorlots says: Sep 6, 2010 6:28 PM

if he ever sees the field he’ll get owned by beason twice a year and won’t be able to do a damn thing about it

  16. Creativefreak says: Sep 6, 2010 6:29 PM

Why would we sign him? So a 242 lb. beast of a running back that averaged 7.2 yrds per carry, 17TD’s and over 1000 yards rushing in his last full season doesn’t interest you? Sure he clearly has some past issues…but that’s what they said about Sammy Stroughter and Mike Williams too. Picking up a guy like this off waivers is absolutely worth a shot.

The Bucs are back! Back to 1993, that is.

  18. poonhok says: Sep 6, 2010 7:19 PM

No, in the world of MMA he can’t sucker-punch anybody–he would get his sorry tail DESTROYED….
Dude’s a thug and a coward who will be back on the street before years end….

He was claimed from waivers, if it doesn’t work, just cut him, nothing lost, I’m totally fine with giving it a shot.

Jeremy Stevens must have demanded a new playmate since Talib is on suspension.
Do they actively try to make this team as unappealing as possible, or does it just end up that way? jeesh

As a Titans fan I’m disappointed that the team wasn’t able to sneak Blount onto its practice squad. He has Jamal Lewis type size & speed.

Talib has kept his nose clean since the cab incident a year ago. I swear, some of you don’t want to give anyone the chance to change.

Raheem just really wants to surround himself with thugs! can’t wait for this guy to be fired. Dungy wouldn’t have touched this guy with a 10 foot pole. Been a Bucs fan for 25 years, but this organization is trying its damnest to drive my lyalty elsewhere.
