Here’s the difference between Moss now and Moss with the Raiders – he knows the Patriots will win, and for all the controversy over this recent comment it’s mostly a hissy-fit because of the contract deal with Brady now getting his. The Patriots likely will keep Moss after 2010 because chances are he’ll erupt because he’s playing for a new contract and the Patriots will give him one – just not the overpaid one that the Jets or Redskins hand out.
CKL, “I hate what this offense has become with him for many reasons.” What reasons? The big difference between this offense and what they had before is this offense has more firepower.

Moss is a loser. Yeah, he has talent out the ass, but he doesn’t know the word “team”. He plays when he wants to play and will throw his team under the bus in a heart beat, if it benefits him in some way. All you need to know about Moss, can be found by watching his Raiders game. He pouted and sucked it up, never once helping the team. Screw Moss.

OK Randy, we already heard you bitching bout this in the spring. At that time you said “that’s the way the Pats do business” and you understood. I didn’t get why you would even bring it up at all, but whatever. Now off you go again whining…why bring it up AGAIN right before the season?
I am a Pats fan who never wanted him on the team and still am not thrilled with him. I don’t care a whit about all those dopey passing records TB set with him in 07. I hate what this offense has become with him for many reasons.

Love or hate him. This guy has had a hall of fame career, 2nd all time in receiving TD’s, not to mention there are 30 other teams that would love to have him. Randy Moss is a legend, and too many DB’s have had nightmares of this dude toasting them on his way to the endzone. At 33, maybe even 37 the dude still is way better than any other receiver in the league besides MAYBE Andre Johnson, Fitz, and….yea thats about it…..

And yet he still averages 80 receptions, 1200 yds, 12 TDs with the Patriots. In a contract season, wow, he could break his only record, possibly. Bob Nelson is just a sourpuss about Moss because he knows Moss destroyed the Pukers when he was in Minnesota.

Its all relative. That’s the world he lives in, and yes, players that are wanted usually sign a deal the year before they enter the last year of the current deal. He’s just being honest. He’s been a good dude working for the Pats. They’ll likly make an attempt to sign him once the labor deal is done, but by then, someone else may want him more ($$$). Brady is primed to have a great year. He has multiple receiving threats that may free up Moss a bit more. The key will be the defense. If they put him in predictable passing situations all the time (i.e. he’s trailing by double digits at halftime), and defenses tee off on him, it could get ugly. But if he gets protection, we could see an MVP year out of Brady. That can only help Moss, assuming he is a happy participant.

Minnesota should bring him back in hopes of reigniting the spark of magic Favre brought last season. From an esoteric perspective, it would be great for the team and the fans: Moss comes back to Minnesota after maturing somewhat, Favre finally gets to throw to Moss, and both could bring the title to Minneapolis for the first time in franchise history…
