Kaz, you put up a link to just over 13 minutes of a 71-minute press conference. That's pretty sad.
He stated plainly later in the press conference that he did not believe the woman was paid off. He also said clearly that he hoped she and her friends had learned their lesson. The medical exam found that she did not have intercourse.
I'm tired of wrangling with bitter rival fans who revel in thinking a woman was raped when she wasn't and that a young athlete is a rapist. Obviously, by this posting, YOU are the kind of person who distorts facts and evidence to make a point. I'm not. I'm sorry your life is so empty that you have nothing better to do than scour the Internet looking for edited comments. I can't imagine what kind of misery would prompt someone to falsely accuse another man of a sex crime because he hates his football team.
Here is the link to the FULL 71-minute press conference:
<a href="http://kdka.com/video/?id=71073@kdka.dayport.com" rel="nofollow">http://kdka.com/video/?id=71073@kdka.dayport.com</a>
RebaT., YOU are the one who started launching launched vulgar sexual attacks at me months ago and wishing violence on me. YOU demonstrate your values with every HATE-FILLED rant. I tried to be kind to you when others were picking you apart. But you do nothing but attack me and everyone else. I have no idea what's behind your raving, semi-literate, often slurred diatribes. If it's not alcohol, then it's drug abuse or mental illness. Frankly, I don't care. As I've posted dozens of times, just leave me alone.

Deb,
My values are my own and YOU have no idea what they are. I don't drink and I am sure that you do. Apparently you think you are so smart. I would be surprised if your IQ is higher than 70. I bet you are so ugly too.
I touched a nerve with you! LOL I LOVE to do that. You are so stupid you fall for it every time. You don't know football for anything.
Manners? You wouldn't know what manners means based upon your postings. Why don't you go in a corner and read Curious George again. Maybe that will help you.

Ben will start on 10/17/10. If you don't think he will, then put some money where your mouth is and make a bet with me. You dopes. I certainly hope Dixon plays well in Ben's absence, and I will be supporting him in those first 4 games. Frankly, I hope the pressure doesn't get to him too much. But at this point in his career he is not even close to the caliber of player Ben has shown to be, and not many are, let alone someone as green as Dixon is. Watch football, dummies, before you open your mouth and look stupid.
Not sure if Tomlin's words were twisted or what. But Tomlin needs to wise up on some of things he says to the media, sometimes he tries to be too cute.
And RebaT, you and connie need to get together and give each other kisses. You are blowing the same horn and the notes are sour! Your minds are clouded with your hatred for Ben for some reason. If either of you are actually Steeler fans (which I doubt), then please go cheer for another team and do us all a favor.
GO STEELERS!!

@Jack Burton ...
You know, I made an innocent post to you about the expectations of a FIRST-ROUND pick, smile and everything. I've made similar friendly posts to 8ball. I don't worship football players. But I keep forgetting that I'm dealing with people who have the mentality and emotional maturity of eighth-graders who are incapable of adult reasoning and incapable of polite conversation. They ignore my many posts condemning Ben's egomaniacal behavior, and assume that when an adult woman realistically assesses a player's TALENT or analyzes the evidence in a legal case that it's really some code for idol worship or "I want to screw the guy." The biggest problem on these boards is that most of you need to grow up.
@RebaT. ... Don't judge me by your values. I'm a football fan, that doesn't mean I want to screw the players. You mouth off like some drunken slut sliding off a barstool who's tried to bang every guy in the joint and been turned down. You're old, bitter, and used up. You hate everything male and everything female that hasn't burned herself out like you have. You're a sad shrieking shrew who knows as much about football as you do about good manners, which isn't much. I've told you before to leave me out of your vulgarity. If you don't like my comments, skip them. They're over your head anyway.

If Ben sits the bench after 4... guess what? That 100 million is G O N E!!! Trade time!! Bu-bye. No contract is a contract in the NFL. Are you kidding? Too many psychos on this board to think if Dixon goes 4-0 or 3-1 they will take him out. S T U P I D!! Dixon can throw AND run. So what he threw 2 ints in a preseason game. Mr. Idiot has thrown 4 ints in one game and people think he's still that good? His stats last year SUCKED. Look it up. He can't run and was sacked more than any other QB last season. Leftwich and Batch depend on the pocket too much. We have a pathetic O line!!
Troy and Hines got screwed over in salary. Woodley the biggest screwed over player.... geez, that good of a defensive player and he gets 500k? WTF?
Ben will never be a Favre, Brady, Marino or a Manning. And I HATE Brady! Let that whore of a wife support him.

Why is the text in BOLD? Tomlin meant that he'll make that decision when it has to be made. How much practice will Ben need to get up to speed. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks? Tomlin may keep Ben out until the New Orleans game. Then again, if the Steelers are smokin' then don't mess with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Having Ben back won't be some panacea. The verbal abuse may have an affect on the team. People will be booing for the rest of the season including the Superbowl. ;-)

When we drafted Roethlisberger, my brother called and said, "We've finally got our quarterback. Our fortunes are about to change."
He also told me Brady was a future superstar when the Pats took him in the sixth round, so I'll admit he's an unusually good judge of talent. But Ben was drafted in the first round to be our future starter. No one could have predicted he'd be so dramatically effective so fast, but everyone expected him to be a high-impact player.
@IdiotBall ...
The DA in his press conference said no rape occurred and that he prosecutes crimes, not sin, and he hopes the accuser learned her lesson. It doesn't get much clearer--unless you are a braindead rival fan. The Steelers' investigators and NFL Security met with him and returned with this information, which is why the Steelers have supported Ben's efforts to turn his life around, rather than trying to trade him as Florio erroneously reported. And that's why Goodell did not allude to sexual assault in his suspension letter but focused on Ben's drinking and image. 1+1=2 Most of us learned simple math in grade school; I'm sorry you didn't.
I post regularly on a variety of issues and team threads at PFT and CFT and have since long before Roethlisberger's troubles in Georgia. You woud know this if YOU didn't limit yourself to these threads. Why the obsession with someone else's team?
I write for a living, but don't work in PR. Aw gee ... why didn't I think of contacting Roethlisberger's agent and asking to be paid for posting the stuff I'm writing already? Rats!

It's a legit point, Florio, and its Steeler tradition. Tommy Maddox lost his job to Ben that way. Kordell ended Kent Graham's career in Pittsburgh and revived his own by winning games on the field. Maddox stole Kordell's job, the season after Kordell led the Steelers to the AFC title game and a Pro-Bowl appearance. Bradshaw ripped his job back from Joe Gilliam by winning on the field.
===========================
Not one of those examples you list involve a Super Bowl winning QB losing his job to a non-Super Bowl winning QB. In each case a mediocre or sub-standard starter lost his job to a better player. Clearly not the case here.
Thank you for making my point.

Listen, I am no BR fan. But for Christ's sake, the man has two rings. The players in the locker room, particularly the vets, understand you don't take away the man's job because some back up had a nice run.

Yes, because we all remember the two super bowls Tommy Maddox won for the Steelers.

It's very unusual that you only post on stories regarding Mr. Roethlisberger. Have any other interest in the NFL?

Yeah, just like when BR went in for an injured Tommy Maddox when he had the second-highest QB ranking in the NFL and two Super Bowl rings ... huh??????
Oh great, someone left the door open and the flies have gotten in again.
@andyprough ...
When the GREAT Dennis Dixon takes us 4-0, by all means, it will be his job to lose.
The DEFENSE had chances in all those games to hold the lead and FAILED repeatedly ... but it's so much more fun to blame the QB who finished the season with his best stats ever.
Kordell Stewart replaced KENT GRAHAM! What? You don't remember KENT GRAHAM?? Then Tommy Maddox replaced KORDELL STEWART! Woo-hoo!!! And Roethlisberger finished off TOMMY MADDOX. Wow these are some HALL OF FAME QBs we're talking about. These guys all came off the bench to go 15-1 their rookie season. Won the Super Bowl their second year. They're among the top-ranked QBs in the league. They all have TWO RINGS.
Would you crazed nutjobs please please PLEASE pack up your irrational hatred of our QB and go root for Cleveland????????
