Patrick Turner's run in New York lasts two days

It took 2009 third-round pick Patrick Turner more than a year for the Dolphins to lose faith in him.  It took the Jets two days.

Gang Green waived Turner on Tuesday, possibly after the team pumped him for information about Miami.  (He told them the Dolphins cut guys that drop passes.)

New York also waived Ricky Foley and Donovan Warren from the practice squad and signed former Cardinals linebacker Cody Brown, a second round pick in 2009, to the practice squad.

  1. no news here – Rex Ryan signs guys to get info from them and cuts them – the next guy might decide it’s best to give misinformation
We also know that the Captains positions on the Jets mean nothing either, as Ryan would give a backup QB the “honor” just in the hopes that it gets a rise out of the other team
It doesn’t. But Ryan has absolutely no football credibility.
It’s all or nothing for “Broadway” Rex Ryan (and I do mean Broad) – that’s why he had a tantrum with the ownership over Revis and that’s why he’s gone after this season once he can’t deliver on his stupid boast and the ownership’s mandate to sell tickets (PSLs are still available and even New Jersey Jets fans aren’t stupid enough to buy them at the behest of a coach who will be shown the door after a failed season.)

  2. Just another pathetic attempt from gag green to, and at any cost, try to find a way to beat the Dolphins. Wrecks is hopeless… we have our brooms ready again

  3. Rotten! If Rex brought him in to see the play book he’s done all he could to the point that I seriously hate him!

  4. Maybe they cut him because he DIDN’T pump information about Miami.
And because he can’t catch for shit.

  5. You know what that is. That is the Jets fear of the Dolphins shoiwing. Fear. Good luck making 6-10, Jets.

  6. Assuming that the Jets did use this guy the way the mob used rats in the 30’s, I hope he hits the unemployment line first thing tomorrow and no other team touches him. However, since there are always two sides to every story, if he was just let go for a valid reason like I don’t know…not a good fit, or realizing he wasn’t worth even minimum salary space, then good for the Jets. No team should stoop so low as to sign a player for the soul purpose of squeezing them for info. I would hope the Jets would be a better organization, or even more, the player would have more class.

  7. Why would the Jets need Pat Turner, a guy who didn’t play in a single offensive formation last season and was outplayed by two undrafted rookies this offseaon, to get information on the Dolphins when they already have JT, who knows the personnel and plays from the defensive side of the ball, which is all that matters to Rex Ryan?

  8. Typical scum bag move by a scum bag franchise. Sign the guy, make him think he’s home, pump him for information, goodbye.

  9. They cut slow receivers that drop passes…they trade fast recievers that drop passes for 5th round picks

Not easy being a Dolphin fan right now. Especially knowing the future is Carl Peterson. Sad day indeed.

  11. Hnirobert,
Nobody uses as many trick offensive plays as the fins. Jets play them 2x a year. Any info is important info. That being said. Jets are scum. Go Big Blue.

  12. Greg, your line about what Turner “told” the Jets was simple and simply funnier than hell. I don’t know why, but I laughed out loud at that comment. That was just too funny…..

  13. (He told them the Dolphins cut guys that drop passes.)
    *******************************************
AND TRADE A PLAYER WHO CATCHES ALL
    PASSES

  14. Agreed Thunderwhip, but being a Dolphin fan, if there was one guy who I could say knew absolutely NOTHING about the team he was on, it was Patrick Turner. Maybe the Jets thought he knew more, but obviously they realized within 2 days that he’s a complete waste of time.

God I hope they listen to what JT tells them because JT has never even SEEN miami’s defensive playbook. Different coach, different scheme- even the font in the playbook has changed
    So good luck with that

  16. Rex: “Mr Clowney, please come back, we we’re just trying to light a fire under your F.;,ing ass.”

  17. Good job, Mr. Rosenthal. A fabricated story on why a player was cut after 24 hours resulted in over 10 “Jets are scum” posts already, with probably more to come.
Your inaccurate reporting got you the page hits you desired, and the Jets bashing you crave, so go bust open a Hawaiian Punch juice box and celebrate.
At least hnirobert has both his eyes open.
As for everyone else: Hate on, people. Hate on…

How the hell does this happen? Peterson ran the KC Franchise into the ground. Look where they have been the last 4-5 years. Why would we want to take a step back?

  19. Hey idiots! A lot of coaches do such things. The Patriots have been doing it consistently for years. You’re all morons. This is a non-story that is nice for you Jet haters.
