Rams release Keenan Burton

A 53-man roster is a zero sum game. When Mark Clayton arrived in St. Louis, someone had to go.

The team decided to let go of 2008 fourth-round pick Keenan Burton, surprisingly choosing to retain Dominique Curry over him.

It’s likely the decision to keep Curry was driven by special teams.  Then again, Burton’s 38 catches in two seasons probably didn’t blow away the coaching staff either.

    38 Catches? Well that was probably 35 percent of all of Bulgers completions over those two years. I’m not a Rams fan by any means, but so far, Bradford looks like the real deal.

    No comments, hmmm, OK…
    Rams suck which means Keenam Burton must REALLY suck!

    Since the Rams released Burton, that means there is still a spot on the practice squad open. I hope that is an indication that the Rams are going after a true no. 2 runningback.

    @Rewddawg:
    I second that one, Joique Bell and Herb Donaldson both showed more in the preseason than any Rams backup RB and could have been claimed on waivers.

    Still shocked we didn’t cut one of our 4 tight ends.

    I wouldn’t expect Mark Clayton to surpass those numbers
