Russell Okung out for opener, while Jordan Babineaux is coming back to Seattle

When safety Jordan Babineaux was released by Seattle, a lot of Seahawks fans seemed to think it was a move that was long overdue.  So they probably won’t love the news that Babineaux is coming back into the fold this week, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.

(The report has since been confirmed.  Babineaux is surely coming back at a reduced rate.)

If Seahawks fans don’t like that news, they really won’t like coach Pete Carroll confirming that No. 6 overall pick Russell Okung will miss Week One

The team will start Tyler Polumbus or Chester Pitts in Okung’s place.  Meanwhile, right tackle Sean Locklear is supposedly on the trading block and not likely to be on the team by Sunday.

Matt Hasselbeck just threw up a little in his mouth.

I don’t know ANY Seahawk fans that thought releasing Big Play Babs was “long overdue.” He was/is a fan favorite. There is no need to create a lie to write your article.

I think Locklear’s middle name is Hillary, so he might not mind the “Heather” moniker. I hope he lands in Oakland. I don’t know anything about the guy, but he’s got to be better than Eric Pears.

Russell Okung missing his first career game with a sprained ankle is no way to go about replacing Walter Jones :(

  7. BigMikeSkinsFan says: Sep 7, 2010 7:48 PM

for everyone who said the skins were dumb for picking williams over okung…..guess who is starting LT week one?

Never got the sense Babs wasnt wanted. Are you going to cite your sources for that comment???

  9. ShaKey says: Sep 7, 2010 8:36 PM

Babs is a Cowboy killer! They must think they can win the division and play Romo one more time.

  10. TheBoz says: Sep 7, 2010 9:10 PM

Where do you get Babs was not wanted?

  11. AzHawk says: Sep 7, 2010 10:30 PM

Long over due………whats long over due is you having to cite your sources.
Babs has always been a favorite of the Hawks fans.

The Seahawks look like a team already in hot pursuit of the first pick in the 2011 NFL draft. If there will be a 2011 NFL draft, of course.

Oh and Jordan Babineaux is probably the biggest reason the Seahawks beat the Cowboys en route to their one and only Super Bowl appearance, about 100 years ago. Despite his advanced age, fans love him here…

I lived in Seattle and the fans like Babs, where do you guys get your info from 75 percent of the time it’s false, yall just wanna start drama

    Doesn’t matter… Niners win 27-10 and SeaGALS 5-11

Hahaha BigMikeSkinsFan, you consistently have some of the dumbest posts on this site.
Oh yeah, just because Okung aggravated a previous injury instantly makes Williams the better LT and reverses the stupid decision the ‘Skins made by taking him too high right?
You’re a joke and your WR’s suck. Houshmandzadeh was practically free (He’s owed $7 million guaranteed so the Seahawks had to pay him whatever his new team did not) and Dan Snyder STILL didn’t pull the trigger.
Wow, so he’s willing to throw truckloads of money at guys like Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall and not Housh? You realize you’re starting 38 year old Joey Galloway, a player the ‘Hawks drafted decades ago?

What a circus. cut, signed, cut, sign, cut, sign.

  19. bluelion says: Sep 8, 2010 4:05 AM

    Tyler Polumbus starting???
Hopefully, that move increases the compensation due the Lions.
