Seattle was an elite team at that time and San Fran was just losing and not rebuilding. They are still losing. They never make the playoffs or have a winning record, so when does their rebuild payoff? They haven't done anything but stare at Singletary's johnson in the locker room and lose games.

Good job pointing out the flaws of a few of the Seahawks. Do you really want us to do the same with some of your 49ers'?
-------------------------------------------------
When we lost Garcia, Owens, Hearst, Andre Carter, Mooch etc.. playing with the likes of Tim Rattay, Rashaun Woods and Barlow with clueless Dennis Erickson @ the helm, what do u expect? The Rams were also on the decline shortly after and Arizona was steadily climbing the mountain - errr - hill. Granted, you won the division convincingly, but we were hardly @ our best. The 2008 Lions had more talent than us in those days..
Hate all you'd like, but you cannot deny our improvement.. to hell with the media shitting on our division, the stats don't lie. Just like us missing the playoffs for 7 years straight. I can't defend that, I can't make excuses - but I do believe we're on the cusp of taking over.
IMHO, I think this division will improve overall in due time. All 4 teams for that matter. I'd rather have the 90's 49ers and Rams, early 2000's Seahawks and 2008's Cardinals all competing in the same era.
Anyways - all speculation aside, lets see what product they put on the field this sunday. I'm happy to put last season - along with the preceeding 6 - behind. As far as the NFC West is concerned, the Rams are the last team to have won something significant. It's all about the present time now.
See y'all on Sunday.

Sorry Terrill should have been dumped along time ago.
And as a die hard Seahawks fan I would rather see them purge the team of useless depth/talent. While playing the new guys instead of seeing the same deadbeat players taking snaps away from the younger guys. Let's face it, we are NOT winning the division nor are we going to the playoffs.
So let's play the new guys and see if we can win 5 games this year with up and coming players. The new players can't be any worse than last years castaways.

Well, let's see... Seattle was paying a bunch of veterans a ton of money and they all played like crap. The Seahawks last year looked like a bunch of grannies and malcontents, like they were annoyed by the fact that they had to play in order to get paid. The purge was necessary. When you win 9 games in 2 seasons combined, it's time to take out the trash. Unfortunately for Seahawk fans, that entire team is trash. Carroll recognized it and now he's doing the dirty work. I'd be amazed if any of the players who have been cut and then picked up by other teams are able to stay on those teams for more than a season or two.
Over the last few years, the Seahawks have made the Lions look like a bunch of overachievers. This purge was long overdue. Goodbye, and good riddance.

On behalf of all Seahawks fans a huge shout-out to the guy who updates the depth chart on www.seahawks.com.
Your job has been nuts the last week, I hope they're paying you overtime (I think your owner can afford that, espcially since he can flush 6.5 million down the toilet to watch Housh leave for nothing).

Let me help you with your cluelessness... It's called a rebuild.
----------------- -------------------- ----------------
@ Kevin C - so this is called a rebuild.. funny how u couldn't notice that a few years back when the 49ers were rebuilding, and u thought Seattle was so Elite running the NFC West..
I understand dumping off some of the vets who are no longer an asset to ur team... I'd also like to thank u for collecting the pile that we kicked out from Sanfran..
u got an alcoholic GM, and bench warmers; a lazy, talentless hack on ur D-Line, over paid, overrated, injury prone WR, and a special teamer with heart/RB who failed to plung into the end-zone when the game was on the line.
----------------------------------------------------
Exactly what i said too!! hahah.. seahag fans make me giggle with Bias stupidity. Rebuilding with all the trash-rejects around the nfl. pleaseee!
Someone remind pete this is not college!!!

Let me help you with your cluelessness... It's called a rebuild.
-----------------------------------------------------
@ Kevin C - so this is called a rebuild.. funny how u couldn't notice that a few years back when the 49ers were rebuilding, and u thought Seattle was so Elite running the NFC West..
