Tony Hargrove lands on injury report

Saints defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove’s inspiring story of overcoming drug addiction recently has been featured on NFL Network. At one point suspended for a year, Hargrove made an impressive comeback with the Saints in 2009, culminating in a Super Bowl title.

Hargrove unexpectedly landed on the injury report for Thursday’s regular-season opener, missing practice with a knee injury. Hargrove did not appear on Monday’s injury report.

The rest of the Saints’ report was unchanged from Monday, with the exception of tackle Zach Strief not participating in practice due to a knee injury, a day after participating on a limited basis.

The Vikings’ report showed no additions or revisions, with the most important developments coming in relation to the cornerback position. With only three healthy corners, rookie Chris Cook missed his second straight practice due to a knee injury sufferedin the third preseason game, and Cedric Griffin participated on a limited basis for the second straight day.
