We told you yesterday that the Cowboys offensive line wasn’t rounding into form as hoped for their Week One Sunday night matchup against the Redskins.
On Thursday, Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com confirmed through a source that starting right tackle Marc Colombo will miss practice again Thursday and isn’t expected to be ready for the game.
The team hoped Colombo would be back in time — Jerry Jones said Colombo would need 10-14 days to recover from arthroscopic surgery back on August 16.
This is a situation to watch closely because of Colombo’s history. It’s easy to forget, but at one point Colombo’s career appeared to be nearly over because of knee injuries. Colombo missed the entire 2003 season, and then 19 games between 2004-2005 before getting durable again in Dallas.
Colombo also missed seven games last year with a broken leg.
