Cheapest tickets to the Jets are $95 for upper level endzone tickets, that is almost as expensive as tickets to the Patriots games which have among the highest average ticket prices in the NFL.
I’m going to sell my Ravens PSL in January to the person sitting next to me for what I paid for it 5 years ago. It’s nosebleed in the upper endzone, but I was lucky to sell it, some people are not that lucky. I can’t afford the Ravens policy of raising prices every other year.

The entire concept of a PSL is stupid. The billionaire owners aren’t rich enough? We’re broke and many of us don’t even have jobs. I’m not paying $300+ to take my lady to a game for 2 and a half hours unless it’s a special occasion.

No they haven’t. The Giants are full of shit in regards to their PSL’s. That’s why all the NY rags have had stories lately about how the Giants have covered up the fact that they haven’t sold nearly as many seats as they claim.
Does anyone associated with this website actually fact check?
Doesn’t matter much anyway….Giants have no heart and will shit the bed by week 5 anyway.
NY is a Jet town…..the Empire State Building will be lit up in green come February.

Preach on, Rosenthal. This is probably the first color piece by you that I have liked. Agreed though, how do they manage to out-price New Yorkers? The fact alone that the season ticket waiting list for the Giants has evaporated is enough to put a tear in my eye. Forget about the Jets, they suck, no one gives a crap enough about them to be on a waiting list for season tickets. This is just a blustery phase of annoyance from them. Reed won’t win a Superbowl in the next two years and he will have worn out his welcome in NY, he will be fired, and the Jets will go back to being second class, silent partner citizens of NY.

The jets did not have as many psl to sell and they are also offering a half price special
The jets tickets are the outlet store version of football in Giant Stadium
The Giants have has some trouble selling high end club seats but other wise the whole place is sold out
Can not wait for Sunday to sit in my nice comfortable club seat and watch the real NY NJ football team.
I took the plunge bought two club PSL knowing that in two more years the country will be tired of the expermint and elect people who have a clue and things will be back to normal

Two friends with Jets season tickets for 20+ years couldn’t afford the PSL’s and had to give up their season tickets. A friend with Giants season tickets for 15 years gave his up too. PSL’s are in many cases half of the average yearly salary, or more.
It’s the high ticket prices, regardless of the city. Now everyone goes to the local watering hole, takes advantage of the drink specials and free half time buffet, and get to see several games at once, depending on which flat screen plasma we’re looking at. All for less than the stadium’s parking fee, and the cost of tolls to get there.
Win win.

We hear it when the Bengals don’t sell out a damn preseason game, but the self-proclaimed next Superbowl champ Jets, in their home opener, in their new stadium should have been sold out months ago. if its anything like the deathstar in dallas then the price of admission is pretty steep. somehow the owners just don’t get it. we can’t afford to shell out tons of money to see a 2 1/2 hour event and feel good about it. they won’t be gettin my money anytime soon.
btw, why is that baseball, basketball & hockey never seem to have this issue? oh yeah, thats right because they don’t have a stupid blackout rule like the damn nfl.

It’s a simple matter of supply and demand. Both teams have the supply of available tickets, but there’s no demand at the ridiculous face-value prices. The NFL just doesn’t get it…, and because of that…, less fans are able to go to the games.
The economy has been bad.., is currently bad and is going to continue to be bad for awhile.., so a whole generation of kids growing up, will know the NFL from watching games on TV. With the luxuries of the home viewing experience.., who pays the price in the end? The NFL does…, and with the looming CBA lockout.., it’s safe to say that the NFL has peaked.., and just like the housing market.., the bubble will burst soon enough.
