Whoopee, the Vikes can beat out the other teams to Javon Walker, Adalius Thomas and all the other washed-up retreads out there. The good thing about this game is the extra 3 days prep the Vikes get for Miami, and not much else.

Two things:
1. Is it really that big of a competetive disadvantage that those two teams can sign players who are still in the free agent pool this late in the game to a non-guaranteed 1-year minimal contract as opposed to a guaranteed 1-year minimal contract?
2. I am willing to bet at LEAST 75% of the free agents that get signed after week 1 already know their destinations and have handshake deals in place with their respective teams.
This is a non-story.
